Hey if any of you purchased a spare tire and wheel set up for your S197 Brembo Cars...

Consider now that Ford has changed the lug size to 14.7X1.5, so whatever setup you have may need some adjusting, at least different lug nuts. Also the PP cars now have 15" Rotors instead of 14".

So I am in the process of seeing if the wheel and Tire I purchased will fit on my Performance Package car. Will keep everyone posted as to what I findd when I get the proper lug nuts.

Here a thread from another Forum Im on..

what's the issue, you need tuner lugs to fit the holes in the wheel you had for your s197?

well Im not familiar with tuner lugs, I have 14.7mm Lug nuts on order, and I think they will work. But Im still not sure the wheel will clear the Brembos in the 2015 yet...

Any helpful insights you have will be appreciated.

Thanks

Sorry because they dont fit into the spare tire wheel that I have in my setup. The wheel needs thin wall lug nuts.

I didnt realize that the lug size had changed, I have thin walled lugs for the spare but they wont fit on the new 2015 due to size difference. I do have new 14.7 thin walled ones on order. Just trying to let others know that might have a similar spare tire they made up.

Also I dont know if the spare tire wheel I have will fit over the new PP Brembos.

So if you have this setup up from this thread...

http://www.allfordmustangs.com/foru...011-mustang-gt-brembo-package-full-spare.html

Drag DR-31, Goodyear 225/50R18 and gorilla thin walled sockets...

You will need the following for this to work on your 2015...

Gorilla 14x1.5 thin walled lugs. along with Socket key for lugs.

I also Bought these 1.5 inch spacers in order to clear the 15" Brembos...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/301747872942

here are some pictures of the spare on the 2015 GT PP...

Im sure there might be a better combination that would fit on a '15, but I wanted to use what I had already...

the spare does sit in the trunk well but the cover sits up almose 2-3 inches... but that doesnt matter to me I like knowing I have a full spare available if I need it...(I have a job I cannot be late for...lol)

Anyone that has this setup and has any questions please let me know, be happy to help you convert it to the '15 GT PP. Of course there is all the tooling that goes along with it...

I also have one 1.5 inch Spacer left over since I had to buy two, that I would sell if someone is gonna do this ....

that's a pretty good solution. only a 3% difference in circumference with the rear tires.

Yes its just a spare....

I would think there are better solutions for a spare for a '15GT PP, but I wanted to use what I already had from my '12 GT Brembo...

Just wanted to pass it along if others were wanting to transfer this to their '15's...

yep, i was going to get the actual spare kit from ford but it wouldve been an 8% difference IIRC.

I dont think the Spare Kit would fit on a PP car due to the Brembos... thats why we all get the repair kits..

it fits the rear, you would just have to move a rear wheel to the front if u get a flat on the front, and just get a half inch spacer to clear the strut.

Yes certainly another option, I had a flat at 3AM once on the way to work... I wanted to make it as easy as I could on myself, along side highways doesn't always make for the safest place to be yanking tires on and off.... YMMV...
