I think it is Ford's goal to match the Easter Egg at 755, no way they are looking at 800+. If the 500 gets close to 755 with ample torque and handling and some creative ways to shave weight, most will be very happy.

Some of you guys are just nuts...in a good way. 750 hp on a RWD car? I’ll be surprised if tires last more than 5k miles ;)

You may be right about the tire wear. I never did get more than 10000 miles on my rear tires on my 4:11 geared 1971 429 Mach 1 with just 375 HP.

What's the possibility of having 2 power levels?

I don’t see it very likely, I’m pretty sure it will be the same Formula than the GT350/GT350R

Traditionally yes it's always been one power level but the reason I'm thinking I bring it is due to the addition of the DCT which would be seen as a way to better manage a higher level of power. Not that important either way, but glad they've retained the manual.

This $1.42m hypercar caught my eye as I'm a sucker for n.a. grunt - 720hp from 5.4 litres is nuts. In the below video it sounds like it's spinning way over 9,000rpm.

Basically a case of what happens when indulging in exotic materials with little to no regard for longevity. These exotics require a rebuild every so often.

I guess the point of posting it is a reminder of how we forget what it takes to get decent power in a sub $80k vehicle that's expected to handle enough abuse for many years.

How do we know that?
Las time I checked it was because it was seen on the "early mule"... how do we know that it wasn't just a GT350-based mule with a "test" the Predator? I mean, I'd like to see the interior of the one with the GT500 body panels (not the GT350).

That's a nice number.

DCT as the only choice? Given the recent spyshots showing a manual g/box, I'm wondering if that was because:

1 - It was a very early prototype and the lack of DCT availability meant they could test whatever they needed with a manual g/box

2 - It was an (updated) GT350 for the '20MY. I know many said the video sounded CPC, but I'm not convinced! That one still had the Voodoo "Wookie-wail" to me!

Is that a guess or you're telling us? :eyebulge::gossip:

Love how some of you guys are obsessed purely with power numbers. 725-750 hp is more than enough. keep the weight slightly above the gt350, improve the handling slightly over the 350 and you'll have a machine that 99% of us cant handle in the twisties. For the straight line guys throw on a tire and watch out demon.

The thing is that apparently it won't be below 4000lb (Hell, some say above 4100lb) so that's why people is obsessed with the power numbers.

On straight line performance not a chance it would be even close to the demon without Transbrake, torque reserve, Power Chiller and other 1/4mile tricks...
