We’ve just gotten our best look yet at what promises to be the most beastly Mustang ever—the 2020 GT500 Mustang! All previous prototypes were still covered in heavy vinyl camouflage, but our latest shots show the car in nothing but a body-hugging graphic wrap. A teaser that was released last month gave a rendered look at the direction of the GT500, but this real-world look gives up numerous unseen details.

The GT500—which is promised to have more than 700 horsepower—gets a sinister reworked front fascia, with larger air-intakes and a massive hood bulge with what appear to be heat-extracting vents. Unique aerodynamic flares have been added at the front corners, with a secondary diffuser that wraps around the front lip, and also underneath the side-sills. Curiously, the side diffuser appears to stop about half way through the GT500’s wheelbase.

A massive quad exhaust set-up appears at the rear, and the new, deeper rear fascia gets another unique diffuser between the quad tips.

Enjoy!

Glad they did use the 15-17 headlights.. the 2018 headlights are ugly in my opinion.

Shocked but happy the ‘15 - ‘17 headlamps have been retained...great design should continue!

I absolutely don't see it? What is going to make this so special? There is nothing in those pictures that makes me regret not waiting on this car so far! I mean where's the beef! I can't be the only one that thinks it's going to look to much like your garden variety Mustang! They could have at least widen the track or something seeing it's taken several years to release. Any way maybe that wrap is just really really damn good at hiding what is under it!!

I feel the same way. When we first saw the gt350R, it looked menacing.

Since it’s a mule I would bet if that’s not the final Front end design and possibly not the final headlight and fender’s.

I see a good amount of changes. Basically take a GT350 and add the vented hood, openings for what looks like twin intercoolers at each front corner, more aggressive splitter/side skirt/rear valence, and I'm sure there is a lot more going on that we can't quite see yet.
