Better grab a seat, i think the music is about to stop. ;)
Tom, pretty much what you and I had thought with respect to a short production year (5 months only) along with significantly reduced volumes for the last year for the R model.

It will be interesting to see what FR can come up with for R model production during the month of October after which then there is a 4 month hiatus until March 2018?

Good luck to everyone in search of a GT350, especially the R.

So, 2000 350R models, 20,000 350's Not too rare...kind of a sweet spot. If Ford offered engines for purchase, I'd get one just to have it around, in case. Write it off as a show piece for my shop.

Jim, these 2 seat cars are pretty special to you and me and I suggest that Ford will build less than ~2000 GT350R models for the last 4 MY's.

The 2 year run of the 2 seat Boss 302 Laguna Seca's came in at 1552 cars which included all of the pre-production cars and suggest that the regular run of the GT350R's will come in somewhat under the 2000 mark including the pre-production R's for the last 4 MY's.

We do know that in 2015 there were 37 R models and in 2016 there were 526 R's built (including all PP cars) but do not know of the total build for the 2017MY but suggest around ~900 at most including all PP cars.

With the 2018 R's coming in at less than ~400 cars (or maybe only 300 cars) I suggest that there will be less than ~1900 R's built for the last 4 MY's which is still very cool IMO.

Certainly much less production than the 2 seat 2005/2006 Ford GT cars for sure!

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

What's crazy is the GT350R is just a tad rarer than a 5th gen 1LE...

That really shows just how popular the car is.

I wonder how long it will take for the ADMs still left to go away once they are sitting. When a friend of mine was shopping for a Boss 302 he just waiting, got one in 2014 just below MSRP. And there is alot more GT350's than Boss 302's

Arguably, the demand is even greater for the GT350. The marketing was definitely more specific, aggressive and more universally "consumed" on the 350.

I doubt you'll see many of these "sitting" - only the ones where dealers have purposely silly ADMs will have them for a couple years, as you describe. A 2 MY-old non-r MIGHT sell for under MSRP (tech pack?) - but that's not going to be the norm, IMO.

I know a dealer that has 2 '17 350's sitting with $1K ADM's advertised......I see this as simply a way for dealers to keep prices propped-up. I looked on CarMax site this morning....Nationwide they have 13 '16-'17 GT350's in inventory. 13 isn't an enormous number but when you consider they only show 43 '16-'17 Mustang GT's nationwide, it's a more meaningful number.

I'm thinking it'll be under 20000. MY '16 saw what, a hair under 6000 base cars and 600 R's?

I called a short production run in another thread, though I will admit the gap in the middle is confusing. Was thinking production for them would end in about March not start back up lol.

I'm curious if they also will not build any Performance Pack GTs during this time because they have the PS4S. It seems like the build schedule is based on the fact these cars have summer tires and not wanting them to be in the extreme cold for an extended period.
