Mine took a shit with 10K on it. Stumbling in 3rd then banging when it would go in. First dealer would not fix it because it had a PP2 tune in despite Ford Performance calling them and telling them that it is a legit tune.

Anyone else have this problem?

My 6R80 took a shit at 9k, torque converter broke. @ 620hp/500tq

Got it built, Circle D converter, billet intermediate shaft and Exedy clutches.

Broke again at 37k. Pump and pump housing locked up. @701/540

your correct, I was wrong, but they are almost identical and made in the same plant.
Actually.....

The GM 6L80 is made at Toledo Transmission Operation, 1455 West Alexis Rd. Toledo, OH.

The Ford 6R80 is made at Livonia Transmission, 36200 Plymouth Road, Livonia, MI.

Am I the only person having trouble with this trans with a stock PP2 kit installed?
First that I have heard about, yeah. That's not really the power level where you start breaking things. I think you got a lemon. Try another dealer?

The 6R80 failing at NA power level is definitely unusual. What did they diagnose the issue as? Glad they are fixing it for you!

They hooked a computer to something and Ford told them to replace the assembly.
