  1. Navigation?

I was on a nice 5 hour drive when the Nav was telling me there was an exit ramp on a four lane interstate that did not exist. The crossover was there, but no ramp. I had to keep driving for another 15 miles before I could hit a ramp and do a u-turn. Sometimes the Nav works great and there...
  2. Navigation?

Instead of saying Navigation in that quadrant it reads Information and you get a Digital compass. The area is used for giving directions (turn directions and current road info) if you use sync services and go to the quad display screen.
  3. Navigation?

You will have to by updated map SD cards from Ford if you want updated maps. The A5 card that just came out is still not as up to date as Google or other services. You can shop around for prices but the updated maps cost around $100. No guarantee on how long their good for. If roads change...
  4. Anyone getting an extended warranty?

I think I know what a Ford ESP plan is, but thanks for the info. I've had one on every Ford vehicle I've owned for the last 22 years:thumbsup: I was responding to another poster who seemed to think loaner car coverage only came with a maintenance plan.
  5. Anyone getting an extended warranty?

No, I'am talking about Ford ESP. It covers rentals for all warranty repairs. That's one of the perks of the plan. If I was talking about a service plan I'd think that would have more to do with getting you're scheduled service done as part of the agreement. It's clearly stated in the ESP...
  6. Anyone getting an extended warranty?

Unless you're dealer provides free loaners than you'd you'd be foolish not to buy one. If you don't get raped on pricing the warranty can be had for very little $. Wait until the first recall when you're dealer does not have parts and tells you the car cannot be driven until it's fixed. Then...
  7. Wait until Ford gets the 'bugs' worked out before buying?

Depending on the build date of the 1.6l it was affected by one of the many cooling and overheating recalls. The latest issues I've seen have had to do with micro cracks in the heads leading to coolant loss. I've spoken to several 2014 owners who have already had a buyback because of this. Again...
  8. Wait until Ford gets the 'bugs' worked out before buying?

I guess the experience is all relative. If you only use it for small tasks like changing a radio station or turning on the AC then it may be ok for you. I still cannot get the damn thing to recognize a POI from the prompt screen. Fords own IVT team knows of the issue but does not know of a fix...
  9. did they release MPG figures too?

Don't expect the Ecoboost to meet those mileage numbers. I'd say it would be a stretch to see it match the mpg estimates for the V6. The 2.0 and 2.3 Ecoboost in other Ford models with vehicles of similar weight don't see the advertised EPA estimates for mileage. I think that realistically the EB...
  10. Wait until Ford gets the 'bugs' worked out before buying?

I can only speak from experience but as of late every new vehicle platform that I've owned made by Ford has had it's growing pains. The same can be said for the Ecoboost motors as well. Ask any 1.6l Ecoboost owner if they would have waited until Ford had solved the overheating problem before...
