Do you still have access to the holes to remove the airbag after the installation or does the shifter backplate covers block them, making future removal very difficult or nearly impossible? That’s been my concern about going this route.

Did you inadvertently catch the lane assist button on the end of the stalk. That will turn off drive modes.
