Hey guys, an update,
Everything was installed. The MMR brackets and RST clutch were an awesome combo. I just had broken the clutch in and my car was totaled by and SUV on the oncoming lane hydroplaning into me. I can say the RST clutch was an awesome clutch for the little time I used it. On...
Wow thats deff not good business. I am not sure if RTD has that ability I have no experience with their products. Im hoping SCT can get you up and running with that emailed stock file (with a working SCT) and you can get to business. Is it a local tuner?
From my experience buying a used car with an unknown tune, I bought the SCT tuner and no tuners were able to do anything unless it was stock. Since I had upgrades requiring a tune, I opted out of going the Ford Stealership route and worked with SCT. They were able to provide me with a stock...
And its funny you were the second person to tell me that. First was a Ford master tech. I saw it and said yup second time. But gotta give credit where its due. Thanks
CJ, yes it definitely is. Car is out of warranty and working with Ford even corporate I was getting the runaround. So Im paying for it all now. Will pursue it later
Yes finally. Been without my car too long now. I was in a dilemma until I found that MMR bracket and it gave me some confidence. I took it to a shop to do the work. Im working toward getting a lift in my shop, once I do that things will change. I cant work on the ground anymore, my body is...
Hey NG, yeah it was pretty gnarly. Im glad it didnt damage the bell housing any more than it did. And the engine block, nah probably no welding. Im hoping that mount will suffice, and thanks for the info on it. I hadnt heard much about it but I guess this is common? With the amount of prep...
So, ended up being the clutch. And the throwout bearing could use changed. Issue was due to TSB 22-2302 - https://dot.report/bulletins/10216466 Ended up ordering a McLeod RST kit, OEM throwout, and MMR block/bell-housing reinforcement mount. That piece Im holding is part of my block where the...
Hey bnight, thats interesting. I wonder if its a bent 1-2 shift fork? Hopefully not that or synchros. I did get a TSB from a Ford tech regarding failures happening on the flywheel but I am not sure if that would only affect 1-2. For me, Ive come to the conclusion after doing a quick bleed...
43K miles and I didnt find any previous clutch services. I get it and drive it like its meant to be driven...... for most people and this happens. I wouldnt be surprised.
Appreciate all of your input. Its going to a trans shop in a few days. If they can confirm the clutch or parts of the clutch are causing this, Im going with an RST kit. I will update the thread once they drop the trans and check it out for anyone interested.
Mustangdriver, this is another symptom. with the car on and I shift into first it starts slightly rolling forward. Possible pressure place or disk failure due to the high launch maybe? Launched at 3900
AZ, thanks for the link. Good info as I was looking into a transmission mount shifter... just gotta figure this one out first lol. After a hard launch and now every gear is very hard to shift into. CJ thank you for the link and the TSBs. You are thinking possible bent shift forks? What gets...
Thanks for the input. Ill check for any bulges in the line (I don't recall seeing any but Ill check again). I bought the car used from an Audi dealership and have only put a couple thousand miles on it. The fluids look new but haven't gotten to any fluid replacement yet.
