My first time chiming in here in quite a while, but I thought I'd add an anecdote to this discussion.
I used to work as a designer at a computer company and the engineers brought in a firm from the UK to see if some of their acoustic technology could help cancel out the noise from fans inside...
Bring a Trailer is featuring a 1969 Boss 302 in Blue that's only got 43k on the odo and has been sitting, literally it seems, in a barn for the last 40 years.
More details at Bring a Trailer, it's for sale on eBay, located in Wisconsin.
This is definitely Magnetic, not Guard. The green is coming from the stage lighting (you can tell because things like the steering wheel and interior trim are also green where lit).
I'm intrigued by the Guard color as well, but I think it's one I'll really have to see in person before...
My guess is that they were aiming for April 14 as the target date for launch but something slipped in the schedule. With the intense pressure for spy shots and news they decided to just go with the announcement early and relieve themselves from having to keep it under wraps for another ~10...
From Autoblog's article:
"...try to reserve judgment until you can see Mustang in the flesh. Pictures often strain to capture a vehicle perfectly, and these first images don't really do the details justice."
"The new car retains the current Mustang's 107.1-inch wheelbase, and despite...
The HD pictures are definitely a big improvement, I've gone from semi-meh to liking it quite a lot. It looks like it's going to have a very nice presence on the road, a bit menacing, but sophisticated. Hard to tell how it compares height and width wise to the current model, but it seems lower...
Any notice the wording curved inside the dials?
On tach: Revolutions per minute (spelled out longhand)
On speedo: Ground speed mph (as opposed to air speed I guess :) )
I'm having withdrawal symptoms - been what 3 weeks? since last decent spy shots.
At least the long rumored/teased Google Nexus 5 finally came out today LOL. Check one thing off my shopping list.
Everything looks good when rendered with an occlusion pass :D
I have Modo at home, if you're up for providing a 3D file I wouldn't mind taking a go at it if I have time (which is kind of doubtful but you never know)
Thanks for the continued updates Chaz! (When do you find the time??)
I really don't think the "cranberry sauce can" ridges are going to be on the real thing, despite what the focus group participant said. They don't exist in Ford's current design language, and more make me think of 80's...
Nice work Chaz! :clap2:
I may have missed something in the blizzard of posts over the last couple of days, but did you make it more fastback? I see less of a distinct break at the trunk. I think it's working very well - though it does seem more fastback than what I can tell from the camo...
A few things I see that don't seem correct based on the spy photos:
- Front overhang looks too short when seen from side
- Too high off the ground by a couple of inches - look in the side view at where the bottom intersects between the wheel center and the ground
- Cutlines for the doors are...
I'm very much in the same boat as idk
I'm English originally so not really into the muscle car image historically. But I like the current Mustang and the new one looks even more up my alley. I've typically driven VWs and Audis, but my daily driver now is a 2012 Ford Focus, the first American...
I usually go for neutral colors. One of my cars today is a dark gray metallic...which looks great when it's clean. But dark grays/blacks get dirty looking so quickly! Yes in an ideal world I'd wash it more often, but life gets in the way...
If the 2015 has a nice blue (I like the Grabber Blue)...
Fixed the aspect ratio so it's closer to the proper width.
Considering these guys do photography and video for living, they often are pretty poor on the technicalities (exposure, camera motion blur, etc.)...
