So the tone ring seems to have resolved the majority of the issues, although there is still some unpredictability with the throttle, and the engine sometimes does something funny where it goes really quiet and almost dies on rev-matched downshifts... no idea what to think anymore.
Cruise...
Picked the car up after the tone ring repair. Haven't driven it enough to see if the tone ring was the culprit. So far, it feels happier, less herky-jerky and the cruise control works. But - it usually feels fine cold/ new from the dealer. Weather should be nicer tomorrow so I'm going to log...
Ok yeah my car bucks randomly while rolling slowly in 1st or second gear even when I'm delicate with the throttle... must be part of the problem. I find the throttle pedal very unpredictable. Without moving the pedal I get acceleration then deceleration in that herky jerky way.
Yeah this dealer has had the car since October 14. Other dealer had the tone ring paperwork too. Should get to the tone ring Monday. Car still drives funny, but looking forward to seeing if the tone ring fixes it so I can see how she drives when she's healthy.
Do you guys feels like the...
Trying my best, this is actually the reason I want to pick the car up. I have regrets about buying it, but only when I'm not driving it (when its running well). When she's healthy the car is electric.
Dealer seems to think the clutch switch fixed most the problems, but can't get cruise control to work and wants to do the tone-ring service bulletin repair now... unbelievable. Looking through my email I sent them the bulletin more than a month ago...
Parts won't be here until Saturday and...
BMW M2 might be the most direct competitor for folks like us who require a stick. Whether they’re priced similarly depends as much on dealer markups as anything else.
If you want a stick you gotta cross shop
If its similar to the GT350 set up... yeah it tramlines. I came over from Chevy, and my ss 1LE tramlined too (fat front tires) but less. Might be some of the benefits of the Alpha platform showing through that the handling and tires are about as sharp but that steering is less reactive...
Sorry to hear about this, I'm going through a lengthy repair process too. Originally, the dealer said "engine replacement" but now they're checking a bunch of other things. I got an ESP from Zurich as additional "comprehensive" coverage for when the bumper-to-bumper expires in a few months. I...
Gotta love z ip tie, always leave a few in the trunk (along with duct tape, a ski mask, and black garbage bags just in case the trooper says "pop the trunk" ;))
Not at what my dealer is selling them for: $69,999... 10k markup. Thank makes the Mach 1 (which is a very lovely car) 7k over the sticker on the 2020 gt350.
Well the new clutch switch was installed and fixed "some" of the problems - the dealership is excited the car starts every time now. Can't say I'm as excited with that progress. Diagnosis to continue tomorrow. Doesn't sound like they have actually started working on the problem that brought...
Funny thing happened yesterday, dealership mentioned they're getting a '22 Mach 1 in, I asked when/ how much, they said January but there's a 10k dealer mark-up. They want 69,999 for a Mach 1.... freaky times we live in.
I'm afraid you're right, and it doesn't seem to be the people I'm interacting with at the dealership (who has done nothing wrong here). It seems like a complete and total lack of urgency from management at the dealership and Ford. I'm lucky I have another car because this is about to be week 5...
