Sweet. Crutchfield website has a note saying to disable the active noise canceling. Is this the forscan fix I keep reading about or is that something entirely different?
I did dynamat extreme in the entire trunk for road noise and exhaust drone. I think I’ve got 3 sheets left? Maybe use them up on the parcel shelf(didn’t do underside in trunk) and what I can in the doors?
Great info. So if I understand right, I’ll need an amp that has a built in DSP? Like my other reply I just want to bring the rears up to the power level of the lower door speakers. Already hooked them up and punched out the holes. if I fade it slightly rearward it does sound a lot “more full”...
Quick question, if you don’t mind. I have no idea about sound systems but was reading through a bunch of stuff on here and wondered; can I just grab the rear speaker lines, put them into a small two channel amp, and run better coaxial 6.5s in the factory position and get a ton more sound out of...
really really great write up! Thank you for all your efforts. I’ve been at it for several hours now. Tried in both spring configurations, cause why not? Did the relearn every time I changed something. No avail. I just doesn’t like to stay in quiet. Normal, sport, and track seem to work fine so...
active exhaust came with the car. I just added the magnaflow that has their own valves. You swap over the OEM actuators.
Yes it’s between the muffler and tailpipe
Came with the car. Not the common short with the wires, or blowing fuses. I’m gonna try reinstalling them again. If that doesn’t work the magnaflow valve might not have the correct range of motion. I do like to turn the volume down for my neighbors’ sake if I’m late getting home. But maybe fuggem…
did you get a resolution to this? I just added a new magnaflow catback and it won’t stay in quiet mode. I’ve tried reinstalling based on other videos explaining the spring, and having to bolt it together under tension, tried the ”recalibration” mentioned above. No avail.
Whole ESS kit is only about 700 miles old. I checked all my charge pipe connections. Did not check the BOV. Guess the facia is coming off (again) tomorrow. I’m hoping it’s a small “hoot” noise from air escaping somewhere and not a spinning metal coming to a harsh stop kinda thing like a bearing...
But you had to remove the intake manifold to get to the fuel sensor connection? And it was separate from the intake manifold entirely? I may have the harness plugged into the wrong thing.
looking at this diagram:
3 is what the manual says is the fuel pressure sensor. I’m pretty sure I put this back on as I could see it when I looked back there. My IMRC is locked out so the pots are gone. This remotely familiar to what you are talking about?
Can anyone guide me to where the fuel rail pressure sensors are? I know where the drivers side rail one is because I have an adapter for my gauge sender. I may have missed the connection on the other. Cannot find where to look. Everything I google comes up with the ecoboost issue they had.
K061033 was the belt provided from ESS with the kit. I tried one size larger and it still wouldn’t roll over any pulley. The next size above that went on and has maybe 40% of the tensioner on it.
I’ve for sure checked the belt routing and that it is seated to the engine side grooves more times than I can count, on different days, had other people check, and pulled the tensioner to a positive stop every time. I had another person helping to pull the belt over multiple different pulleys...
