I had no idea they fixed the base rotors. Any idea if they also changed the rears? The performance pack cars still share the base gt rear brakes and it would be great if they fixed the direction on those as well.
There is a pretty good write up on the blog at optimum performance, that's how I...
Thanks! really want to do this upgrade....Ford changed the inverse hat rotors on the base GT so they don't overheat and fail .... this made a huge difference. I wish they would announce the changes when they make them, maybe they are trying to avoid recalls, etc. They made several changes as...
Hey Brian, sounds like you might not own the infamous Guards Green GT anymore....would be awesome to hear your review of the calimer MT82 and all of the supporting upgrades....also was wondering what your thoughts were on upgrading a base GT to the 6 piston Brembos....Terry at Vorschlag said...
Yeah I guess I should have been more clear--the BMW bump stop material was different than the OEM bumps I removed.
Bump stop material, shape, length, and location all play a big role in ride quality when there's minimal up travel before bump stop engagement.
some of you with the experience...
here is a cheaper parts list

awesome, this is great stuff!! sure do appreciate the information
Thanks
I upgraded my base GT brakes over 6 yrs ago and didn't change my master cylinder. Haven't had any problems.
cool, this is good to know
appreciate the feedback!
Thanks
From what I have found out is that the master cylinder is a hair bigger but unless heavily tracking car it is not a real concern. I went from factory 4 piston GT brakes to Bullitt 6 piston and while haven't drove it a whole lot since it is about winter time haven't noticed any issues. Also I do...
awesome thread... just trying to get my parts together to do the same thing to my base GT. I was reading on Vorschlag's 2018 build thread, that they did the same thing to their base GT...but found out that the performance pack master cylinder has a bigger piston, to move the bigger calipers...
@BMR Tech Maybe they can chime in and give guidance, I was about to do the same thing. I saw a video with Kelly from BMR recommending the bearing along with the TR005...just curious how he made it work
no worries man, I think I'll start with the BMR bar on the softest setting and she how she does....hoping with a square stance and the SP083 springs should be what I'm looking for. I saw the bar for sale on Tasca, great price if I end up going with one of those
Yeah, I know he seems like a super cool guy, I'm gonna do the BMR front on the softest setting with the stock GT rear for now, and then maybe add the GT350 rear later if it turns out to be too much oversteer or unsettled. By the way, where is the best place to find the 350 rear bar for sale?
Just heard back from Kelly and he recommended the exact same set up as you...I did forget to mention I was planning on using 19x10 wheels with a square stance but he did say ...
"I often use and set people up with a stock bar from a GT PP or a GT350 stock rear bar. Most times with the stock GT...
Sounds good, thanks for getting back so quick on this. My goals are to get rid of the understeer and have the suspension and chassis really outperforming the motor. From all the research I've done The BMR SP083 with Ford Perf Track dampers are the way to go. It seems like Kelly from BMR was...
WOW, what an awesome thread, this is exactly what I've been looking for!
I think I know what to order for the car, except one thing that hasn't really been addressed....the ideal sway bar set up for the SP083 /Ford Perf Track damper set up....anyone one with expertise or experience with this, I...
Hey Kelly, any NVH associated with these bearings.... I was watching one of your videos recently and I believe you said their was noise associated with the BK055 and less with the BK081
Thanks!
just curious if anyone has thoughts on this set up or is using anything that resembles this. using the shocks and struts from the ford performance pack M-18000-F and combining this with BMR sway bars with adj end links, BMR adj toe links, M 5A460 M toe bearing, and ford jounce bumpers.....just...
