Quick update - got the car back. Dealership was awesome to work with - Service Mgr. and the mechanic kept me up to date, took pictures etc.. I have the car back, have only put a few miles on it. No clunking! It now has the Steeda toe links and camber arms, bushing support kit, subframe...

They've already ordered the new cradle. I think I'll go that route and then once I get it back I'm going to put the Steeda bushing supports and thru-bolt kit.

These are front diff to cradle mount bolts - we may be talking about different bolts.

I thought about heating it, but was afraid it would damage the bushing. Are you saying they use red Loctite on them from the factory and that it requires heat to remove it?

I think I'm going to just have them replace the entire cradle......

Well - dealer figured out the issue, but we are working to figure out the best way to solve it. As I mentioned, I put the car up on my lift and check all of the bolts I could find and nothing seemed loose. They were able to identify that the PS front differential mount bolt was "loose" - more...

Checked the axle nut and it's good... Talked to an old friend this afternoon that is a service manager at a Ford Dealer and he thought maybe it could be the wheel bearing - said they had a similar issue on a GT350 - could feel any play in the bearing, but something internally was messed up...

Nope, cruises down the interstate at 85 smooth as can be. Going to check the axle nuts this weekend. I'll report back what I find. Based on what dad and I heard it seems more isolated to the PS.

No... I'm familiar with that.... It kinda sounds like what a broken u-joint sounds like...

My dad stopped out and listened... I think it may be PS axle... Some Google searching now has me thinking about axle nut coming loose. Busy on another project right now on the lift, but when I have time I'll check that. I had him back up and pull up and it does sound like PS something....

Just went out to my driveway and backed up and pulled it forward a few times. If I let it roll back and pull forward it doesn't seem to do it. If I put it in reverse, back up and then back to 1st and pull forward it does. You can hear it in the vids at the link below - you can hear me move...

I know I can take it to the dealer under warranty, but I've not had great luck in the past with their troubleshooting abilities on other vehicles - they just start throwing parts at it and hope for the best.....

Not sure I'd say really loud, but you can definitely hear it inside the car.

It doesn't do it every time, but once it starts, it seems to continue for the remainder of that drive. From a dead stop, easy take-off there is a clunk/thud noise from the rear. I've had it up on a lift, checked the diff mount bolts, rear subframe bolts, driveshaft bolts, springs are seated...

I haven't even changed mine yet.. only a few hundred miles and it's kinda put away for the winter

I'm hoping I don't need it, but some tracks require them. Also, if something were to happen, I'd much rather give them a good tow point vs. them hooking onto whatever they can under the car. I may also use it to winch into/onto a trailer.
