  1. Used 2016 GT with 106K Miles - is this a Bad Idea?

The seat bolsters are actually OK and the carfax indicates service every 7000 miles which fell regularly 3 or 4 times a year, so I think that indicates highway commuting. Not sure what's happened with the plastic parts on this one, maybe they just didn't like being in the Southern California...
  2. Used 2016 GT with 106K Miles - is this a Bad Idea?

Thanks for the tips! I'm still on the fence about it. I've got to drop the car back at Carmax this morning since my 24 hour test period will be up, I'm thinking of telling them if they can fix all the issues (and most importantly tell me what the engine light is signalling) and drop the price...
  3. Used 2016 GT with 106K Miles - is this a Bad Idea?

Good to know they stand by the warranty. I finally got a call that the car was at my local CarMax today so went and got it for a 24hr test drive. I have a few concerns. Firstly and most worryingly the ā€œcheck engineā€ light came on and stayed on after driving for a bit. Secondly there is an...
  4. Used 2016 GT with 106K Miles - is this a Bad Idea?

Also a good deal, and it looks great! Sounds like you guys just got your cars in time - for comparison Carvana is currently listing a 2015 GT Premium for $37990!!! Admittedly itā€™s under 8000 miles, but still...
  5. Used 2016 GT with 106K Miles - is this a Bad Idea?

Thatā€™s a good deal! Iā€™m keeping an eye out, but things seem to have gone a little nuts just lately.
  6. Used 2016 GT with 106K Miles - is this a Bad Idea?

You did well - your car sounds like a lucky find, and looks great! Thanks for the ideas - Iā€™m learning all about credit scores... and that my whole life up until I arrived here counts for nothing now. šŸ˜ Luckily I knew that would be the case and got a credit card immediately! I could probably...
  7. Used 2016 GT with 106K Miles - is this a Bad Idea?

300K is encouraging, thanks! So.... what happened after 300K? šŸ™‚ The one I am looking at is definitely one owner, according to CARFAX, so thatā€™s in itā€™s favor. I have yet to see it in person, I have to assume CarMax are busy PUSHING it the 300 miles up from LA because it is not here yet. Maybe...
  8. Used 2016 GT with 106K Miles - is this a Bad Idea?

Haha - Iā€™m glad itā€™s not just me! Iā€™ve used (or at least tried to use) what I think is the same system in a friendsā€™ 2015 Explorer, and itā€™s just... well, you summed it up perfectly. šŸ™‚
  9. Used 2016 GT with 106K Miles - is this a Bad Idea?

Thatā€™s a good point - I have widened my search. Plus I could stop being so damned picky I suppose. šŸ˜ I have a feeling that unless there is something majorly wrong with the high-mileage car Iā€™m just going to buy it so I have transport... itā€™s occurred to me that it doesnā€™t have to be the end...
  10. Used 2016 GT with 106K Miles - is this a Bad Idea?

Probably more than you paid for it! NOW we all realize that the smart move would have been to buy a whole fleet of mustangs a year or two ago - would have been more lucrative than money in the bank AND more fun too. šŸ˜‰
  11. Used 2016 GT with 106K Miles - is this a Bad Idea?

Yes, I put a hold on it and will be seeing it Saturday, all going to plan. I'm still looking around as well, I contacted the guy with the silver 2015 down in LA which does look nice.... the main thing going against it for me is that it is a 2015 so won't have sync3 and Apple Carplay. I realize...
  12. Used 2016 GT with 106K Miles - is this a Bad Idea?

That's a great comparison point, thanks. How is it going at over 105K - any issues or worries? As others have said, we're living in strange times, apparently the average used car price has gone UP about 17% this year, and niche cars like Mustangs it seems even more, so you did well to get a...
  13. Used 2016 GT with 106K Miles - is this a Bad Idea?

Good point, you are right about the warranty - I called Ford Protect and it's not possible to buy their warranty on a car over 5 years old or 60K miles, so I'd be out of luck there! CarMax offer a 150K/36mo warranty with a few deductible options - for a $150 deductible it's $2,859. Does this...
  14. Used 2016 GT with 106K Miles - is this a Bad Idea?

That's some pretty good mileage! Have you seen any issues come up with your Mustang by 70k?
  15. Used 2016 GT with 106K Miles - is this a Bad Idea?

Haha - makes complete sense. I'm guessing you don't haul so much top soil in the mustang though. šŸ˜
  16. Used 2016 GT with 106K Miles - is this a Bad Idea?

That's good to know. I didn't want to admit this for fear of being laughed at, but the main reason I like PP cars is the dash gauges.
  17. Used 2016 GT with 106K Miles - is this a Bad Idea?

Thanks for these tips - I'll give AED a call. Looks like they're about 2 hours drive from me, they could be worth a visit at some point in the future either way. :) One plus if I go with the CarMax 106K vehicle is I would have plenty of time to get it properly inspected and take it back if...
  18. Used 2016 GT with 106K Miles - is this a Bad Idea?

Nice find, thank you! I will definitely check that one out.
  19. Used 2016 GT with 106K Miles - is this a Bad Idea?

I'll check them out, thanks... most of those are a pretty long drive from me (San Francisco Bay Area, CA), but I'll think about the idea of travelling further afield - a road trip could be fun and I'm wanting to see more of the U.S. anyway!
  20. Used 2016 GT with 106K Miles - is this a Bad Idea?

Could be an option, thanks... I had actually been eying a few 13-14's up online but haven't had a chance to drive one yet. The main thing putting me off the older ones is the interior, but it might grow on me! So that's Plan B. Or I could consider an Ecoboost, I'd actually like to drive one of...
