  1. I enjoy driving my GT350 (already spent $350K racing a Mustang)

The best bang for the buck if you want to go door to door is to rent a Champ / WRL seat, just arrive and drive someone else's car. Much cheaper and infinitely less hassle. I might do it one of these days, one of my good friends does it regularly. He has a track car too but does not race it...
  2. 3/10/22 Mach1 Track Attack Pics

Not sure, I don't recall having an option for day 2 or maybe I just ignored it because of the inflated costs. You should inquire with the Track Attack folks. As I recall in one of the conversations I had with one of the instructors the guy liked the Charlotte location more because there was no...
  3. 3/10/22 Mach1 Track Attack Pics

NIce! Great pictures. I attended the (Basically the same) GT350 Track Attack in Charlotte last spring. Definitely worth doing when you buy the car as it's free outside of the accommodations and insurance costs. It was well done and enjoyable. However, if you have to pay for it (Over...

  5. GT350 referenced on C&D article about Cayman GT4

All relative. The Mustang finished more than 11 seconds ahead of the Porsche in the end. Having that extra torque pays-off to get around lap traffic... https://www.imsa.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/32/2021/01/06/7_2020_IMPC_RoadAtlanta_OfficialResults.pdf

'Too much lighter' : No, just compare street Cayman GT4 to a street GT350. There's a lot more to it than just lighter weight with the race cars. Solid motor mounts and heim joints suspension instead of bushings, better dampers, stiffer springs, the cage itself adds rigidity and you can better...
  7. GT350 referenced on C&D article about Cayman GT4

I've seen that video before. Very fast for sure. But this is a caged and gutted race car weighing 300 lbs or so less than the street car sitting on slicks and a no compromise track suspension. That's an apples to oranges comparison to a street car. I've heard that just the slicks are worth...
  8. GT350 referenced on C&D article about Cayman GT4

And yes, ask any pro driver which track is more challenging and 'Manlier' between RA and VIR, they'll say RA every time. I have driven VIR, and all other tracks in the Southeast and RA is definitely the "Manliest"
  9. GT350 referenced on C&D article about Cayman GT4

My Best lap is not established in the GT350 yet. I would expect low - mid 1:30's on the factory Cup 2's, Definitely low 1:30's or even better on Hoosiers.
  10. GT350 referenced on C&D article about Cayman GT4

RA is a flowing / horsepower track. The 350R they tested was several years ago, there has been many revisions on the suspension, steering, engine, etc. I personally have driven several hundred laps at Road Atlanta, even if it's lighter, a car that's 100 hp and 100 ft /lb short will lose out of...
  11. GT350 referenced on C&D article about Cayman GT4

Being lighter, the Porsche might be a tad quicker running around a parking lot on an autocross track. But on a real man's track like Road Atlanta it would take be about 5 car lengths for the 112 hp / 112 lb/ft short Porsche to become a spec in the GT350's rearview mirror out of turn 7. In...
  12. GT350 owners that like the car

Love Mine! No issues whatsoever, it's a treat whenever I drive it.
  13. Resonator Delete Regrets?

Don't mean to highjack the thread but... Congrats on an extremely rare car! According to the spreadsheet yours is one of 4 built for 2020. One of 4 Iconic Silver GT350's built ever with the Recaros, no Handling pack, tech pack, black stripes, and CF dash. That's the beauty of Iconic Silver...
  14. Not Quite As Limited As I Had Hoped

I just got my hands on the spreadsheet for the 2020 GT350 production numbers. Mine is even rarer than I thought. There were a grand total of 9 Iconic Silver / Black stripe / Handling package / Recaro's / CF dash GT350 produced in 2020. Since Iconic Silver was new for 2020 and that was the...

  16. Video: Mustang Mach 1 driven by pro driver Rick Kelly, using flat shifting on track

I was looking at it from the other way around. "We" being the US side... Fair enough.
  17. Video: Mustang Mach 1 driven by pro driver Rick Kelly, using flat shifting on track

Cool video, keeping in mind that the car is intended to do well on a road course the long 2nd gear makes perfect sense. It means you can actually use it out of slow corners instead of being forced to use 3rd which gets a bit tall for slow corners which are typically in the 45-55 mph range...
  18. Video: Mustang Mach 1 driven by pro driver Rick Kelly, using flat shifting on track

Actually, 3:55 instead of 3:73 means a few more MPH per rev on the engine. Differential Gear Ratio determines the number of times the drive shaft (or pinion) will rotate for each turn of the wheels (or ring gear). So if you have a 3.73:1 gear ratio the drive shaft turns 3.73 times for every turn...
