So having a 350R without the tech package is exceptionally rare. Nice. I have a grabber lime no stripe R without the technology package or any options really. And its a tool trial car.
You're lucky it took them long enough to exceed the lemon law rules. My dealer had my new engine in like 4 days, so I didn't meet the requirements. Chose to sell the car for a loss.
Yeah I mean I get all that. But I'm sure the stock unit is fine for most. Was just curious if there were flaws with the stock unit like the timing chain system. Just pop open the oil cap and look at the difference between the primary chain and the secondary chain hah.
Side question why does everyone do carbon driveshafts? Is there something wrong with the stock one? Also the stock clutch will hold a lot more power than it makes stock. It's a damn good OEM clutch as is the transmission and rear diff.
The comp oil-less is a really cool idea glad someone did it. I have the ford performance catch cans just because of the OEM look and no warranty questions.
Ah gotcha, I must have missed the low mount deal. I'm a fan of anything OEM Garrett they make the best stuff IMO, everyone else trys to put fancy tricks on Garrett stuff but Garrett and Borgwarner are the OG in that space. If you want to run an oil cooled turbo you could always just set it up...
I'm impressed you got grip in the rain, the stock cup 2 tires would be a death trap in the rain.
Speaking of heat I would 100% look at Aldo welds kit vs the hellion, the hellion is going to heat soak the engine bay like no tomorrow where having the turbos down by the oil pan would be way...
When I raced they required the seats to be tied in to the roll cage door crash bars etc... I assume this is a bolt in cage not a weld in cage, interested to see how it looks.
Wow you are spending an amazing amount of money on this car, did you buy a bunch of TSLA options early on or something lol? Good luck with the build excited to see how it turns out and I would recommend giving ALDO Welds a look on the TT kit with some air cooled turbos so you dont have to worry...
The crank isn't the weakpoint.... And aren't the internals already forged? If you want to really boost one just gap the rings and lower compression a little.
Ok so go on another $80k sports car forum and show me where the front pages have multiple threads about the same exact kind of engine failures on the same year car.
If you think all of the old muscle car collector dudes that bought some of these thought hey I'm going right to the mustang 6g...
Your search is missing some, mine for example. If you consider how many 2020 were made and that they are all the same root cause, and figure maybe 20-30% get on the forums and talk about it. Its a pretty widespread issue amongst the 2020 cars.
Either the chains or the tensioners are the issue. HOPEFULLY it was just a part quality issue and maybe some day someone will make upgraded chains for these cars. Like on motorcycles there are a variety of chain upgrades, fundamentally these are the exact same. The stock chains are TINY in my...
I got 130 miles out of the first engine, and if the engine can't handle 8k RPM's why is the redline 8200? Redline is supposed to be well within the safe limits of the engine. It's really not an extreme rev limit a ton of cars do near that stock without issue. If you're not going to rev the...
Yeah I know it's not a voodoo engine only problem what I'm pointing out is they spent all this money stretching an existing platform for race use and didn't bother swapping out a known issue like a cast oil pump gear that is just lazy. Then left out the oil catch can unless you want to pay...
