I know this is an old thread but I didn't want to start a new one on the same exact topic. I am also interested in finding a reputable shop to apply ceramic coating. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
Needs to fix it but I sincerely hope no one our there is relying on their back up camera so much at it would cause an accident if it were to all of a suddenly black out.
I don't know how risk adversed everyone else is but the risk of failure supposedly is only there if one slams the brake. Of course you never know when you'll be in a situation that may require doing so. Chances are you'll be fine driving it until the part comes in; hopefully that will be sooner...

Edit: I read the nhtsa recall link in the OP. They aren't even sending iut notices to owners until Nov 16 so seems to be the case.
The pre-owned market is hot right now. I've ran across many stories like yours where people are getting almost as much as they paid for the car originally. At the time I was looking into trucks though but seems like it applied in your situation too. I think I'm about to pull the trigger.

HoustonGT, any updates? I'm looking in the same area and running into the same problem regarding inventory. I did find a configuration I like for about 14% off msrp (including rebates) + ttl. From what I read so fsr that seems to be good enough to pull the trigger?
