PPF is well worth the investment, I went with Xpel ultimate and you can hardly tell it’s on the car. It comes down to finding a good installer, as long as you regularly wash and wax your vehicle it shouldn’t yellow. Also the Xpel ultimate comes with a 10 year warranty for piece of mind.
Sorry to hear about your mishap, had a few close calls with my little one....hopefully you were able to touch it up. If mine wasn’t so bad I would have touched it up instead of sending her to the shop.
Well the nightmare continues.....the body shop painted her a second time after burning through the paint when wet sanding. Went to pick up the Mustang July 21st and of course it was the end of the day and they parked her in the shade, everything looked ok so I paid my deductible and took her...
I think the big problem is the insurance company since they didn’t want to pay to pull the quarter window, although the shop should have pushed them to allow time for the re and re. At least they are trying to make it right and they know my expectations. Although I did consider sending her to...
I contemplated trying to have a smaller repair done vs repainting almost the whole side of the car, then I figured I’d go all in and have the larger repair done. Have to say when I looked at the car the match was bang on and the metallic was identical to the rear bumper and trunk, however now...
The problem is the Ford body shop is questionable and I was there the previous week having them look at my misaligned fender (Warranty) and the manager used to work for the shop I was using and agreed they would be the best to perform the repair....go figure
That colour looks amazing, when I ordered mine I was trying to decide between Rapid red and Iconic Silver and ended up going with the silver...now I have second thoughts lol
Update: So I found a body shop that is certified to work on Porsche, BMW etc they fix a lot of high end vehicles and they do quality work so I decided to use them. After getting the initial estimate for the insurance company, told them my expectations for the finished product I felt good...
Well the painter looked at it today and since the damage is where it is, basically the quarter panel, pillar will have to be repainted and possible blend into the passenger door to make it a proper repair where you won’t really notice.
if the damage was in a different spot there would have been...
The dealership I work at has a body shop and one of the painters is really good, so hopefully the repair will be minimal and you won’t be able to tell....I’ll be posting the final result when she’s all repaired
So after a 7 month wait I finally get my PP2, the dealer doesn’t touch her aside from the PDI. I take care of the clean up and detail so the paint is flawless and what should happen after less than 3 months of ownership? The quarter panel meets a metal squeegee falling as I go to grab a ladder...
its most noticeable if you are looking down the side of the vehicle, fender sits out quite far from the door but the gap is good so probably going to leave it. Dealer looked at it and is willing to adjust if I want it done...
Fit of the body panels, for some reason Ford quality control or lack of at the factory let her leave like this ....Still deciding if I will let the dealership body shop adjust the door since it’s warranty, could cause more problems.
If you order a Performance Pack 2 it could delay the order or wouldn’t get built and would have to be ordered for the 2021 production. When I ordered mine the dealer tried to get me to change my order to a PP1 so it would get built sooner... the 6 month wait was worth it for the PP2!! As long...
When I was looking for a Mustang GT PP2 last summer I found one that had similar mileage, also had scuffs on the interior plastic and would have had to have a full paint correction as it looked like it had been washed with a dirty brush multiple times. That particular dealer really wanted to...
