  1. Titan Precious Metals Titanium Header Bolts for 5.0L & 6.2L Now Shipping!

As I mentioned above, ARP has a stellar reputation because they make a superior product due to their superior strength and unlikelihood to fail due to fatigue. Stock header bolts work just fine and do not require some outrageous strength ratio vs. a stock bolt. And even if a stock header bolt...
  2. Titan Precious Metals Titanium Header Bolts for 5.0L & 6.2L Now Shipping!

While I appreciate the time and energy someone puts forth in bringing a new product to market, however this is a solution in search of a problem that doesn't exist. They mention ARP bolts which have a fantastic reputation. These "jewelry" bolts are a gimmick, nothing more. The fact that they...
  3. 2018 GT MPG 87 vs. 93 octane

No, no, no, no, and NO This is wrong. Higher octane fuels do NOT take longer to burn. This is NOT why timing needs to be advanced for higher octane fuels. It's completely backward. Timing can be increased BECAUSE of higher octane fuel. Why?? It's called mean piston speed. A gasoline/air...
  4. Is high temp paint necessary on coil covers?

No High-Temp paint is not necessary. I painted my coil covers with off the shelf rattle can paint made to paint plastic. Two year later, it still looks great.
  5. When is a bigger throttle body necessary?

You might want to consider swapping your stock GT intake manifold to a '15-'17 F-150 intake manifold, if you can find one. You can pick up 25-45 more ft/lbs of torque with no loss in HP or change to your existing tune.
  6. 2018 GT MPG 87 vs. 93 octane

Back on topic..., when I am on a long drive and cruising down a flat interstate at 70mph with cruise control engaged for hours on end, I'll use 87 octane fuel because the engine is under no load/stress and doesn't need a ton of timing thrown at it. In that scenario, 91/93 octane fuel is a...
  7. Is the GT premium worth it over the stock GT

While I don't know about the 2015 models, my 2016 GT Premium gives me the option of turning the screen to "night" mode and turning the brightness level way down, so Its not distracting or glaring. Check your settings menu for it?
  8. Any obtainable HP(for me) left on the table?

This is why I went with a set of used cat-deletes bought cheap from a fellow S550 owner. I wasn't willing to spend another $800 on a set of LT's to maybe gain another 10 hp.
  9. Any obtainable HP(for me) left on the table?

This is untrue. The factory-stock Coyote "shortie" headers prior to the cats are quite good. Think about it..., FORD spends tens-of-millions of dollars on R&D developing their powerplant combos; do you really think they are going to pour millions of dollars into developing cylinder heads...
  10. INGOT SILVER S550 MUSTANG Thread

My statement to follow is obviously very subjective..., but I think Mr. NC Stang Guy's wheel/tire combo is perrrrfect. And the stance is absolutely spot-on as well. Very nice ride my friend. Very nice!
  11. Is the GT premium worth it over the stock GT

Yes, Premium was the way to go for me. I wanted all the small features of the Premium package. I like the (p)leather, puddle lamps, lighted sill plates, back-up camera, blind spot assist, toggle switches/drive modes, sub-woofer in the trunk, large touch screen, and interior lighting options...
  12. What did you do to your S550 Mustang today?!

Changed the oil and drove it for the first time since August. Stopped to fill it with fresh 93 and Sta-bil mix, and to check the oil level. It was nearly 60 degrees today. Loving this "climate change". I bought it two years ago this month and it has 7825 miles on it so far... I...
  13. Injector O-ring Lubricant

If it were my ex-wife receiving the "injector", I'd say shove it in dry...! :like:
  14. Broken plastic help

Was trained as an 0341 at SOI. Went to SFBN, F.A.S.T. Co., Norfolk, '92-94; then 2nd Force at Lejeune, '95-'97. Semper Gumby...
  15. Broken plastic help

That part is NOT sold individually. If you can, remove all the JB Weld from that repair. Unfortunately you used the wrong epoxy for that repair. You should have used an epoxy specifically made for bonding plastic. Your local hardware store should have the proper product. Like you, I broke...
  16. Bummed after driving ‘17 2SS

FUCK NO....!!!!!! It will come back to haunt you in a big, big, big way. It's only a matter of time...
  17. Bye guys thanks for all the help but I got a...

Excellent ride my friend. I am happy for you. Like already mentioned, we are all car guys at heart. You have one sweet ride, so enjoy it while you can! Life is short, live for today. Tomorrow is never guaranteed. And if I'm honest, I really envy the torque of the LS engines! I bought my...
