ZL1 Coupe, 10 speed, no sunroof, PDR. The discounts on the 1LE are really high at the moment but its to much of a hard edge for me, especially since I don't track them. The ZL1 has MRC and I didn't want to lose that nor have factory tires that were basically street slicks
The C8 I had on order was as a backup. Since my deposit was fully refundable it allowed me to continue to search for a sports car while still remaining on the que for the new Corvette. There are plenty of good choices on the market today. Life tosses us lemons so try to make them into lemonade...
I gave up on my quest to buy a GT500. Today made arrangements to pick up a new 2020 ZL1 next week. After reading the latest R&T rag am glad I did. Plus I got the ZL1 for $8k under MSRP instead of paying over MSRP.
Interesting thread. To toss a wrench into it you can buy a new 2019 Z06 1LZ with the M7 for $70k with current incentives. If that's not the buy of the century I don't know what is.
How does the GT500 compare to the M7 Z?
Both the C8 and Gt500 are outstanding performance cars for the money. I have a C8 on order. But would cancel the order in a heart beat to buy a GT500 with the technology package at MSRP. Am still actively searching for a new 2019 Z06 for the "deal of the decade".
Isnt it great we have so many...
The review was also accomplished on 91 octane. Not a engineer, but would guess both the HP and TQ #'s were slightly down as a result compared to 93. Tire pressure and ambient temperature can also affect the times as well as how much gas was in the tank as well as how many cameras were hanging...
GM considers the Stingray, Grand Sport, Z06, and ZR1 different models. If you go on their web site you will see different build options for each of them for 2019.
GT350 is nice but to me its needs a refresh. I do not like the dash layout. Ford should change it to the current digital display you can buy on other Mustangs. Not much desire to own a manual. Been shifting gears for 50 years and getting tired of it.
I used Intercity two different times, one to ship a car from NH to CO and the other from NH to TN. Each time I felt like the driver of the truck was delivering his own car. Highly recommended.
Don't understand why some of you got your feathers ruffled. There are plenty of nice cars on the market and that includes the GT's as well as the Corvettes. Your right, I didn't understand the market. At first thought a GT500 could be purchased for below MSRP. Then realized even MSRP wasn't...
They are close. This is a quote from Road and Track:
And yet the C8 laid down a blazing 2.8-second 0-to-60-mph run, absolutely crucifying the C7’s 3.9-second performance. Dropping nearly one-third of the time from an acceleration run with no additional power is possibly the biggest coup ever...
Love the GT500 but i will pay above sticker for any car. Decided to order a Corvette. The C8 I spec'ed out will have pretty much the same performance as the current Z06 and cost me less.
Here are the details:
Coupe 2LT
Blade silver
Full length dual racing stripe, carbon flash metallic
Black...
