I am running a Gen 5 Whipple on a 2016. Have about 10,500 miles with very spirited driving. Hard pulls from rolling starts. Car is not tracked have had no problems.
Only have about 750 miles on the blower at this point. My initial reviews and comments are as follows:
Temperatures- Cylinder head temps run about 200-208
Oil Temps- Oil temps run about 195-200
Oil pressures- 75-100 (similar to original factory set up)
Drivability-The car is insanely fast, very...

That’s what I’m thinking to do in the Spring. Going to be snowing here in Western Wisconsin any day now. I have the dyno graph which I will try to upload. It was a very conservative tune and I put 250 miles on it today. What a blast !
I think the problem is they do a very general tune....and if you have issues and questions get ready for an endless exchange of emails cause it’s very hard to talk directly to tech support.
Add about $750 to that if you want some custom dyno tuning. I bought the Whipple tune but changed it out immediately. My tuner picked up about 80 WHP over Whipple with a conservative tune.
Yes...they claim that for every 0.125” you go down in size you will increase boost by 1 lb. Therefore drop to say a 3.5 “ pulley and you should run about 13 lbs boost. I’m OK with the horsepower but I was wishing for more torque than 481....although it builds to max TQ at about 3200 rpm.
Just got my car off the dyno today. I installed the Whipple Gen 5 system with the 132mm throttle body. No other mods other than the MMR oil pump gears and crank gears....on pump gas 93 octane the car made 731 WHP and 481 TQ. Torque curve was totally flat from 3200 rpm to red line all at 9.9 lbs...
I looked at the Hellion Turbo system about 6 months ago but I was concerned about the lack of ground clearance with the way they were routing the plumbing. I’m sure someone has made improvements there but the system I saw actually was lower than the front k member.
The kit comes with BMR motor mounts that you absolutely must
The Whipple package included the BMR motor mounts and you absolutely must use them to get hood clearance. The strut tower brace can no longer be used. Mounts were a PITA to install.
