I went back to a camaro also. while they can have issues also, none of my motors sounded like anything other then a V8. It socks on one hand because I think the mustang looks better, I had an Orange Fury also, but I couldn't take the noises .
You guys are better then me. I thought I could live with it but it drove me nuts (doesnt help I spent most of my daily drive in that rpm range). Traded it in on a 2020 2SS and will never own a Ford product again. I have 4 receipts in 7 months telling me
typewriter tick was normal (mine was...
Just had my 19 in for its second oil change (that the dealer only put in 8 quarts instead of 10, luckily I only drove 4 miles before I checked it, anyhoo) and my tick is back crazy. Sounds just like yours. Went and gave it a WOT run on the highway, as I am in the "just send it" crew, and funny...
I am no engine master but after going through a bit of forum paranoia shortly after my rattle started on my 19, that scoring looks normal. Some say the plasma liner shows scoring a bit more then traditional liners.
if you take offense to things strangers on the internet say.... whooooo boy. Wheat has gone more then most by actually putting rubber to road and trying to figure out what's going on. Ease up a little, keep it civil.
I cross shopped a BMW m2, but a BMW is something that I would never have out of warranty. And unless something
haha I like those both, but my buddy got a loaded explorer st, and I'll tell you what, Ford knocked it out of the park . Its fast as hell, and rides like a yacht in the best way
and we don't know if a fix is even needed, as right now I think the replacement rate for motors in these cars seems to be about the same as Camaro s and challengers. Either way I'll be honest this is my 4th mustang, and probably my last. I am not freaking out to much about the noise but the...
that's the part that sucks, if we all agree the pretty much all make the noise, and many of them are handling tons of hp stock, it's kinda Russian roulette, especially since no one can really tie the noise to the motors being replaced
true.
true. If you are bot voiding the warranty it doesnt matter. I am just going to lower it and an exhaust , drive it. if it doesnt break by 20k I feel it will be fine
I guess another question, said the noise was coming from cylinder 7 or 8. But when borescoping piston 5 was the only one with scuff marks.... any thoughts on that?
probably the best conversation I have seen about this, wish ford would just tell us. I feel their is a reason tha that ford is taking so long for the ford performance tune
mine gets quite when warmed up, but is hard to recreate with load . I just wish ford would say something. and it would be nice to know if the motors that are getting replace have to do with this, or if its something else.
