If your exhaust is considered legal and doesn't violate any emissions or noise ordinances, I'm fairly certain there's literally nothing anyone can do. I agree with the others that the letter from a law firm is a scare tactic. Personally, I would explain that my exhaust is legal to all involved...
I think it really just depends on what you're doing with the car. There are reasons for not changing the ring and pinion if you're a drag racer because you can run the 1/4 in 3rd gear with a 3.55 or 3.73. Seems like its worth it for daily driving/autocrossing if you can get the install done at a...
If the 4.56 will fit, I don't have any reason to believe a 4.30 wouldn't. I can reach back out to Gus to confirm.

Hey all,
There have been several discussions about ring and pinion options for 2015+ Mustang. As many of you know the MT82-D4 (2018+) gearbox has even longer gears than the prior revision in 2015-2017s. Currently the only ring and pinion options available are 4.09 and 4.56. Many of us feel 4.30...
Both cars are base GTs with black accent package and standard stereo systems. 2018 has a CD player and 2019 does not. I get Ford needs to cut costs, but eliminating the CD player has got to save all of about $9.
Biggest gripe is the MT82-D4 and lack of ring and pinion options.
This is also the first car I've owned with non-hydraulic steering, and I just don't care for it. Putting steering in sport mode makes it feel "heavier" but the feedback just isn't there and I miss it.
Comparing my 2019 with a...
I've done the math same as you, really seems like 4.30s are the sweet spot for the MT82-D4. 4.56s are just a pinch too much at 2600rpm at 73mph, 2800rpm at 78mph. It's logical to go with the 4.09s because its the best alternative and closest to the ideal ratio of 4.30, but sure would be nice for...
