Lund tuned e85 starts right up every time even when it was 25 outside. They had to add fuel twice. It nearly stalls for a second but never does. There is so much fuel that I do have backfires if i try to give it too much throttle for the first minute or so if a cold start.
Yes which of course they were going to deny on the account of the pcm being flashed 50+ times. Tbh though i never tried because then i would be in the hole even more for the labor on pulling the motor apart to find the point of failure. So i just got a new long block instead.
Was bama tuned from 3k miles and e85 bama from 8k until 18k where i was getting misfire codes. So u changed over to Lund and no more codes, car ran much better.
If i had to guess i would say it was the e85 bama tune which was a little off/hot. They never could even fix my low idle problem by...
Like any mechanical part, it will wear out with use. Revving higher makes the internals move more, therefore wearing out quicker. I wouldnt say revving to 5k at a light throttle is the same as wot to 5k to shift though.
Putting a high load on the engine at high speeds is probably the fasest way...
Last time i had that cel was when someone didnt put the throttle body gasket back on the manifold when they put it back together. And like you the car felt like it ran great, i would only notice weird surging under idle sometimes. So if i had to guess a gasket is missing or damaged on the...
Now i dont knw much about gen 3 f150s but the gen 2 ones were missing some forged internals and had different cam phasers i believe. And with all the hubbalub about gen 3 motors blowing up from nothing id rather not take another chance.
True but putting a gen3 motor in a gen 2 car that still has payments on it seems like a bad idea to me. And being my obly vehicle atm i couldnt really have it down for weeks getting parts and install with correct internals
Here is an update. Tech found cylinder 1 and 5 spark plugs smashed, did not proceed any further, I paid for a gen 2 long block and installation. Never seen a dealer move so fast. Dropped it off friday, parts ordered, parts in monday, done by friday. If it was in for a warranty claim on a tie rod...
Here is the log of after the 2018 manifold was installed, if anyone is curious. Also I actually stopped logging before it blew up on the way back home cause I was idling for a while and figured it was good.
The tech was pretty convinced it was parts of the rod in the pan and the piston actually blew back so hard it hit the spark plug and shattered it. But they never fully tore down the engine to see for sure yet cause I wasnt gonna pay 2 hours labor for that. Tbh the o ring was torn port the...
Well I had switched over to a lund tune about a month or so back. I never had misfires other than cold starts with the bama tune.
When i changed over to the 18 mani i noticed on the stock one there was a broken o ring around the injector port for cylinder 3 i think. I can post the logs later...
I actually do have some logs from when i got the second tune. I even was logging when it blew up i believe. Like i said though the tuner said she looked good on the base tune before i did anything else.
Now this is gonna sound crazy but i found the o ring from one of the factory injectors stuck...
Tbh the techs probably wouldnt even know the difference of manifolds. Once they check the ec and see it was revved to 7.7k rpms would be the tell, that and the 50 times its been flashed.
No, I guess I will just come out and say the first tuner was Bama, and if you know anything about them they don't care to look at data logs and I never logged them cause the sct was annoying to use to say the least.
Yes I uploaded the correct tune revision before installing the manifold. The reason I switched tuners was because with the first tuner the car was throwing misfire codes in cylinder 8 or multiple cylinders on cold start, even though I physically never actually heard misfires. With the second...
Had a passenger side catch can since new. I did not hear a pronounced tick or rattle ever on the car. Also like i said the tech did not get to the point of failure. I just told them to order a new long block. Ford will be receiving the old block and will investigate i am sure, i will ask the...
