Quick update on car. I sent Vortech a video from when I 1st heard a new sound a few weeks after the install(this video was from last year). The rep said in the video you can hear a bearing has already failed (which I suspect is from a error of the shop that did the install). I even sent the same...
Knowing the sounds I know now, it will be a valuable lesson if I continue to own centri blown cars.. Can't say dropping all that money last summer just to have this happen in 1-2 thousand miles is a fun experience
Unit has been shipped off, shop did a tear down of all the tubing and found a lot of large metal chunks stuck in the intercooler unable to bypass the small internal piping and they think the larger BV57 BOV helped keep some of the chunks out of the system..
So far they ran a compression test and...
I have a sneaking suspicion metal made its way into the engine.. This is my throttle body:
Car was towed to a shop today so hopefully I'll have some news end of this week.
It will be awhile before I get any updates. Without any professional experience and this being my 1st centrifugal SC Im convinced before I put it away for the winter I was hearing a bad bearing. Then to hear what sounded like the impeller start eating itself after a big pull leads me to believe...
well this is turning into a lot more than just taking a unit off for a RMA.. Going to pass this issue into the hands of a local shop. How likely would this be caused by installation error by the original shop? This system only has maybe <1000 miles on it.
So I had a beefcake paxton kit installed by a performance shop end of last summer. After a week or 2 of driving the car the unit began to make extra noise but was assured that each unit sounds different and was told not to worry. Later in the year I did some data logging on a dyno and the techs...
Hey guys,
Just had a dyno day to do some data logging to check everything is healthy on the pony.
During the 1st pull I learned they pulled fuse(s) and I'm more familiar with the route of just unplugging the plug by the air intake. So after the pull they put the fuse(s) back (didn't see if they...
Just had a RXT installed with steel flywheel and have about 140 miles into the break in. So far it literally feels like the stock clutch just bites at a different spot.
That being said if I lug it off the line or in a parking lot it likes to chatter so i leave a stop at about 1k rpm to avoid it...
For the guys that take the filter off for the track and don't run breathers what do you do with the driver side oil separator that runs into the air intake?
I was worried about street manners of centri cars too when I first started shopping around but learned some ppl were having issues with pro chargers old MAF location in the intercooler.
My paxton drives insanely smooth, i go through a parking garage at an airport every day for work tons of...
This was from the dyno pulls finish line (beefcakes neighbor) made on the local E85 they run in their cars and said its a tested source.
Car was seeing just under 12 lbs of boost but I haven't been able to run the car hard since I brought it home due to the clutch slipping at WOT above 6k rpm so...
Sorry I should of specified it was remote tuned by Lund at the shop, both sides saw about 2 degrees pulled and the final tune was20 degrees with the car being able to go up to 22 if the knock sensors are happy.
Just wanted the community's opinion on stock headers/cats being the bottle neck and...
So ppl refer to E85 as knock proof or the holy grail but when the shop I used tuned my car after a paxton kit install the car was knocking at 20-22 degrees on E85 which kinda threw me off.
They said the stock headers/cats caused back pressure in the cylinders and is to blame, anyone have...
