The knock you described is concerning to me. Otherwise I’d be inclined to say that diff whine is normal for the Torsen rear diffs found in these cars. I hear it in mine, sometimes more sometimes less but I’ve never found it to be a concern since Torsens are known for being louder.

I’ve had the TSB done on my car and it made no difference in the rattle. The car had the tensioner squeak that was fixed by the TSB but the rattle remains.

I guess the only question remains is who's going to be the first one with a 2k rattle to take the plunge and change his dual mass flywheel to a single mass and see if it goes away? :fingerscrossed:
