Maybe you haven't heard, but you can now clean and regap spark plugs. Also, when buying new plugs, you can gap them yourself and know for sure they're properly gapped. This is brand new information. Spread the word.
Doesn't anybody read spark plugs anymore? You could just blindly follow the herd and put in colder plugs, or you could get online and study how to read plugs and save some money. Cobb doesn't recommend colder plugs for their OTS tunes, and Ford Performance doesn't recommend them for their tune...
Deleting the resonator, will only slightly increase the sound of the stock exhaust.
I don't think it sounds good. I haven't heard the NXT axle back. I recently heard a stock exhaust with just the mufflers delated. I thought it sounded as good as any exhaust I've heard. It's certainly the cheap...
The EGR system wasn't designed to combat detonation. It was designed to combat peak combustion temperatures that create oxides of nitrogen, a pollutant. The way they are designed, It's not possible to flow excessive exhaust gas, from an EGR malfunction.
The ecoboost's factory turbo is very...
On a nose heavy car like the Mustang, unless you're talking about drag racing, it doesn't make sense to stagger, unless you're going to put the wider wheels and tires on the front.
A cheaper alternative would be to just delete the 2 mufflers. To me that sounds as good as any of the aftermarket exhausts, and you could just go to an exhaust shop, and they could do it cheaper than buying an aftermarket exhaust. I was surprised at how good it sounded. If that ends up being too...
How about a Mach 1. It beat the GT350R around Lightning Lap, and the engine should be more reliable than the Voodoo. Randy Pobst did a YouTube track video of it and loved it.
If carbon buildup is a problem on the 2.3 Ecoboost, where are all the cars with problems? Ford says they've resolved the issue, and I've looked across multiple forums, and I could only find one engine with mild carbon buildup. There's a guy on this forum that pulls his intake manifold every...
You'll be hard pressed to find a 2.3 Ecoboost with any symptoms from carbon buildup on the valves. I've looked and looked. You'll find some with a little carbon, but very rarely is it enough to cause any symptoms. The early 3.5 Ecoboost had some problems with it, but not the 2.3, which is a...
I think the FJG is the fugliest color Ford uses. It looks like they just primered the car and clear coated it.
Every other color they have is better than FJG.
I owned a 76' Cobra, 302, 4speed manual. If I recall, the weight criticism of it was because people thought it was heavy, for it's small size. It probably had the smallest exterior dimensions of any mustang. It's 302 2 barrel was rated at 135 HP, so acceleration wasn't it's forte. It had decent...
No, a catch can doesn't capture all of the oil in blowby vapors. If you want to know how much they miss, install a second catch can between the first catch can and the intake manifold.
1. The carbon that accumulates on valves and piston tops can't be wiped off with a rag. It gets baked on. You need to use a solvent or abrasive media, to remove it. The photos, in this thread, of carbon on valves are no where near enough carbon to produce any noticable symptoms of a poorly...
Ford designed, built, and installed the PCV system, on our cars, on purpose.
They purposely allow some oil vapor into the intake manifold, to lubricate the throttle valve shaft, intake valve stems, and cylinders.
