On the heavy duty side my company just had 3 sequential numbered brand new cummins isx engines replaced for excessive oil consumption (1 gal per 12 hr shift) ended up being ring gaps were aligned. Prior to that the islg engines all had to get steel piston conversions due to melting kept us busy...

I agree that failures are part of the performance car game. I think the main concern a lot of people have has more to do with the high cost of a replacement long block. I mean a gtr costs twice a much but you can get a long block for much less than a voodoo.
  6. Engine failures - Not

My luck too lol, mine started knocking minutes after I finished saying I haven't burned a drop of oil and the whole thing is exaggerated.
  7. I just blew my stock 2017 GT350R motor with 4700 miles

That noise is identical to mine when it spun a bearing at 8k miles. Yes, there is obviously a high rate of failure but at least ford seems to be quick to approve replacement. I'm not sure why people get so worked up about numbers matching in these cars. By the time they are collectable enough to...
  8. Facts about VooDoo engine failure...

The author of this article has only gathered data off of forum posts. He seems to be working under the assumption that everyone who has ever had a voodoo engine failure has posted about it in a forum or a facebook group. He also choses not to count engine replacement due to excessive oil...

That's a hell of an analogy.
  10. Official Resonator Delete Thread

I am in the exact same boat its been about 3 weeks and no replies to my inquiry. I did just get an automated email for a tracking number that says a shipping label has been created.
  11. ARH catback

I was aware of losing the valves and I'm ok with it. I also assume I would need to get a tuner to get rid of the cel for 02 sensor with the cat delete.
  12. ARH catback

Those arh long tubes sound sick.
  13. ARH catback

Has anyone installed just the arh catback system without the headers? Love the sound of the full system but the install looks unpleasant, I spend too much time in the shop as it is. Curious what it sounds like haven't been able to find any vids.
  14. Another Voodoo Gave The Ghost

I got my engine replaced a few weeks ago how do I know if I got the latest version with gt500 improvements? I understand they are built to better withstand boost? I'm foolishly considering the hellion kit.

  16. Replaced Voodoo Engine

Well I guess I can add my car to the list. Picked up a 17 with 8k a month ago driven less than 1k was driving normal thru town and it started ticking pulled over as soon as I could. In less than a mile the tick became a bad knock, no cel. Shut it off and it wouldnt restart. Oil pressure, level...
