  1. Terrible AC smell. Help pls

thatā€™s actually a pretty good idea, but I will not do that in the summer here in AZ, lol. At least not while driving, maybe let it run for a while while I melt outside the car hahah
  2. Terrible AC smell. Help pls

I also wanted to be able to properly clean the vent ducts as they were dusty, but also wanted ā€˜better reachā€™. I tried what you said (sans removing the filter, lol Iā€™m not smort) a couple of months ago, with poor results. Am I wrong by thinking the outside air inlet is behind the battery box?
  3. Terrible AC smell. Help pls

I do this almost every time, but unfortunately I started after the smell started.
  4. Terrible AC smell. Help pls

you see, in my mind, if Iā€™m already going through the hassle of getting all the way in, where I can visually inspect the Evaporator, might as well just replace it, knowing itā€™s a common failure in these cars. But thanks, if it comes down to that, Iā€™ll also check the blower motor.
  5. Terrible AC smell. Help pls

Decided to remove the screen and radio and spray disinfectant through the vents and cabin filter cavity. So far no smell, but Iā€™ll know tomorrow or during the weekend. /knocks on wood worst case scenario Iā€™ll buy a new evaporator and take a day off to change it. thanks guys.
  6. Terrible AC smell. Help pls

Le sigh is this covered by a TSB? How much did they charge you? I was aware an evaporator replacement was something to be expected at some point, and I would probably do it myself unless the dealer doesnā€™t charge a whole lot.
  7. Terrible AC smell. Help pls

    Thank you for this. Lol
  8. Terrible AC smell. Help pls

Hey all. My 2017ā€™s AC has been smelling off (sporadically) for about a year and a half now. Iā€™ve replaced the cabin filter a couple of times, also used 2 products I saw recommended in this forum [see pics], still no improvement. Some comments that might be useful: - The smell is a...

I was thinking: "are those freaking spacers" then I got my answer, lol
  10. BG Syncro Shift II; safe/good for Diff?

Thank you. I assume something like THIS, would be adequate? Since it has additive, I guess using the BG Universal MGC on the tranny would be the way to go?
  11. BG Syncro Shift II; safe/good for Diff?

Thank you all, will not use the Syncro on the diff. What would y'all recommend for a daily driven S550 with occasional track days (maybe 4-6 a year) living in AZ. (preferably something I can get at a local shop, since I'll be doing this today) Also, should I use the BG modifier (Universal...
  12. BG Syncro Shift II; safe/good for Diff?

Hey all, I just bought 4qts of BG Syncro Shift II for my tranny oil change. I also bought one 6oz bottle of BG Universal MGC. IF everything goes according to plan, I'd have 1.3qts of Syncro left over (assuming I don't use the modifier, and the fluids chart from LMR is accurate). Seeing as the...
  13. Another GT to Brembo thread. Help me make an informed decision.

Nah Regular black. The dealership ended up ordering Explorer calipers (non-brembo, hence the price). But that same week I got a set from FB marketplace; really good condition, low mileage.
  14. Another GT to Brembo thread. Help me make an informed decision.

I think it was 480 for calipers, pads & rotors
  15. Questions for those who upgraded from base to Brembos.

yeah, we did a FULL flush. RP, RD, FP (in/out/in), & FD (in/out/in). After it was finished, we bled each caliper a little bit on an empty, clean bottle to make sure all the fluid was new. No bubbles. Reservoir never got even close to Minimum level, we were on top of that shit. The car brakes...

  17. RUST!!!!!!

My 2017 developed that, and even though it was out warranty, I found a TSB here that the dealership accepted (they were fighting hard to not work on it)
  18. Modifying As-Built Data Guide

Awesome, that's one of the models I was considering, but wasn't sure if I could change data/program with Forscan (with a laptop, of course) using this one. But if it works, then it might be worth the cost if I can use it for dual use (diagnostic and programming) I used a friend's MX yesterday...
  19. Modifying As-Built Data Guide

unfortunately I don't. I was looking into adding the switch a couple of years ago, and didn't feel like experimenting much on my new car with the lack of data there was back then. I'll dig around to see if anyone has been able to successfully add memory to cooled/heated seats.
  20. Modifying As-Built Data Guide

Thank you very much. what I meant for the OBD2 was: Is there a scanner/adapter that will work with iPhone (for Diagnostic) AND with Laptops for programing. My bad.
