Congrats James on your new Oxford White! I live in Troutdale and picked up my 2019 Ford Performance Blue back on July 16th. Just hit 2,500 miles and it's been nothing but a dream and thrill every time I hit the Start button :-) I think I may have seen you around town...and probably will...
@03reptile, thanks again for walking through this discussion - this is my exact situation. Living in the Pacific NW (Portland, OR) we see our fair share of rain, temps below freezing, and the occasional snow. I would say the bulk of my daily driving will be in the rain and the cold dry temps...
After some sleepless nights and pondering for days, I went ahead and had a full ceramic application done by the same shop. He has a FEYNLAB detailer that works alongside him. I went with their Self-heal lite product on the painted surfaces which 70% of any surface scratches will self heal in...
Sounds like you found a good one - if he's doing exotics, that's a good sign. My guy does many different exotics as well. I really wasn't planning to do the rear quarter panel, but he's done a few GT350's and recommended. He followed the horizontal body line and made a gradual slope down from...
Hey Lightrules, I contemplated this back and forth for months before my GT350 was delivered. As many have stated before, I'll reiterate...it's all in the skill of your installer. I took mine to someone whose been in the business for 20+ years applying graphics and PPF. He doesn't use the Xpel...
Reptile!! THANK YOU so much for sharing this!! I've been waiting searching and searching for something other than a Summer only tire for the OEM 19 wheels. I live in Portland, OR where we get our fair share of rain and cold temperatures in the winter. I certainly won't be driving when it's...
Hey Galaxy, you are correct, the 30 days is to allow for offgassing. If you wax or seal it could turn cloudy and haze over. I learned that the hard way with my 15' GT 4 years ago when I had to have some bumper work done. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Rest assured Mark this is normal, the good news here is your next update will likely be 'Awaiting Shipment'. When mine went 'Off Site' it returned a day later to Awaiting Shipment. Your car will be on the ramp in no time!
I'm glad to see you're asking questions about PPF. I just took delivery of my 2019 GT350 in Ford Performance Blue as well just 3 week ago. I used a local installer that's been in the business for 30+ years. He doesn't use the Xpel templates, all free hand trimmed work. This is a full nose...
I have been experiencing the same issue with the seat not moving to the correct position even after following the steps in the manual to program the key to driver position 1. I've run those steps multiple times with my first key. I'm going to try my second key to see if that makes a...
How did you notice or realize this? Just curious...I'm picking up my Ford Performance Blue GT350 tomorrow and would like to be sure my front splitter is installed properly. Beautiful RED by the way!!
Thanks Mike for the confidence boost and the link! What kind of finishing polish did you use. I've used the Chemical Guys Scratch & Swirl remover which worked well on my 15', but in the sunlight I can see where I was working. Wondering if I need to complete it with a finishing polish?
Looks AMAZING! Nice job!! How much time did you spend on paint correction beforehand? I take delivery of my 19' GT350 on Tuesday and trying to determine if I want to tackle this myself or leave it to a professional. I do have a Torq 10FX DA polisher, just scared to use it on a brand new car ;-)
The OEM vinyl is $1800 cost for the whole car and $100/hr for a professional installer to put on the white and remove the black. Unbelievable that dealer cost is so high for replacement vinyl...it's vinyl for gawd sakes, LOL! Even the dealer was shocked ;-)
