I think one of the best things you can do besides e85 tune, even with a PP1 it's worth it to get the Steeda stop the hop kit. You'll be able to easily keep all that power to the ground.
I'm from Vegas and I'm using the 4S through all the seasons. The temperatures in the winter usually don't dip below 30s, I asked this question on the forum awhile back and someone mentioned putting a little more air in the tires (i filled mine to 34 psi). It helps a bunch in terms of feeling...
That's a perfect description, i would almost say it makes the roads feel greasy since the tires can spin up so easily. I don't have to deal with the colder east coast temps so i'll try to stay with the MP4S all winter, raising the psi made them feel safe, and still capable of "spirited driving".
Yeah i just did my morning drive to work at 39 degrees. I've put a little more air in my tires and it does seem to get the tires up to temp quicker and stays warmer. Not perfect, but better.
I did a similar strategy as you OP, I waited until the 2019 mustangs were being sold and they still had 2018 mustangs on the lot. I found a PP1 GT that I liked, there were dead spots in every tire. Not only did i get a great deal on it since they wanted to move it off the lot, i got 4 brand new...
Yeah it does tend to get under 40 degrees in Las Vegas in the winter pretty often. I use the car as my daily so i might need to look at a different tire for the winter.
I have an 18 GT PP1 with M4S tires, this is the first time it's being driven in temps below 80 degrees. Since i live in Las Vegas it's not like I have to deal with snow, but since this is the first time the temps have dropped I can't help but notice if my tires haven't been warmed up they spin...
One thing I've noticed is it i put 87 octane gas in the car and hit sport+ mode the catalytic converter turns into a giant rotten egg almost immediately...If i run 91 octane gas the rotten egg smell only happens if I'm going WOT or close to WOT.
I've had my pp1 for 6 months now and I just figured out how to disable advancetrac this week (holding the traction control button for 5-7 sec)...try it out in sport+ when the roads are empty, it makes the car feel really raw and it is a blast!
To be completely honest, my GT PP1 had the typewriter tick and it was loud...Dealer confirmed it was standard operating procedure, after some initial frustration, I read the forums here and found everyone recommended Ceratec. I put that in my engine a few months back, tick went away almost...
You could do something similar to what i'm planning. I have the black PP1 wheels and I'm looking at just getting them powder coated a different color (light silver/nickel or bronze). Was quoted $500 by a local shop, which is a bit cheaper than buying all new wheels.
Thanks for the pointers, i'll probably just wait for the Bilsteins MR to see if it's worth it while I do some other modifications to tide me over in the mean time
So i have a 2018 PP1 with no MR, but I find the suspension is a bit harsh, i know a sports suspension is tight, but sometimes it feels tight and bouncy. Mixed with Michelin Cup tires and their soft rubber it can make a lightly bumpy road very uncomfortable. So what I'm really asking is with no...
