FYI the guys that change the oil at your local dealer are not mechanics. They are guys that can fog up a mirror, mostly minimum wage or close to it. One of the mechanics that would work on your car for actual work would not do this.

Actually oil like the 5w-20 is thinner when cold and thicker when hot. The 5 is cold viscosity and the 20 is warm viscosity.
