Anyone know of a reputable shop near the daytona beach area? There used to be ID motorsports, don’t believe they’re in business anymore. Looking to get cams installed.
I'm on Steeda sport linears, with a number of other suspension mods.
Pro's: Handles better than the PP1 dampers, a lot more confidence going through the turns. More responsive as well.
Con: Definitely feel the bumps and divots in the road more.
I can't speak to others experiences with Steeda, the rep I worked with was helpful and worked with me in locating possible hardware that would allow the 12mm mounts to bolt on to the B6 shocks. After a couple different hardware attempts he located what here is being called the "Bilstein...
Hi, the shock mounts I have are the 12mm ones which comes with the hardware you linked to above. Unfortunately, the spacer does not fit the B6 shocks. I'm working with steeda to determine the correct hardware.
Hi, I'm in the process of installing Steeda shock mounts on the Bilstein B6 shocks. I see that the hardware which comes with the mounts do not fit the B6's. Has anyone had any luck with getting the Steeda mounts fitted on the B6 shocks? I'm trying to pinpoint which washers/nuts are needed...
I’ve been communicating with them but they just sent me basically the same hardware that comes with the mounts which do not fit the B6’s. Do you have a part number for this hardware?
Hah, did just that last week. On top of that I sheared another one when torquing to 50 ft-lb once I had the strut in the car, the instructions call for 54 ft-lb. Summit is sending me a replacement, I’ll be much more conservative torquing that one.
It looks like the spacer on the Steeda plate is too small for the Bilstein strut rod. Steeda does specify on their product page that the camber plates are not compatible with the Bilsteins. I ended up ordering J&M plates. What hardware kit are you referring to?
Hi all, does anyone know which caster/camber plates fit the Bilstein B6 struts? I've been using the Steeda plates with the PP1 struts, they're not compatible with Bilstein.
Thanks.
Anyone know what they mean by " the team added two side heat exchangers – one to cool engine oil, the other transmission oil – as well as a rear axle cooling system"
Are they just referring to the engine, trans and diff coolers?
I used the mounting screws in addition to the tape. I did notice on the driver side mounting location, part of the 3M tape lost its adhesion and there was a small gap between the spoiler and the trunk. I cleaned the area and used a little Gorilla epoxy, now it's sealed fine.
Installed mine yesterday. It came with 3m tape and screws. I used the stock 4 mounting holes. Lining the spoiler up with the holes is easier with a second set of hands.
