They are closer to two inches, which works out well on the front offset. I think this set of lug nuts stick out a bit too far for the rear offset. See the rear below.

Honestly, I think the 275/35 is the ideal width for the 9” rim. Have a look for yourself, but I’ve seen what “too” wide looks like, and I’m no where near uncomfortable with this fit. As far as the square set up, to each their own; however, I prefer the staggered look and additional grip.
