  1. 2017 convertible with smartTOP module

You won't regret it. I rented a 2019 convertible in FL a few weeks ago and realized how much I took for granted all three: the one touch operation, the top up/down functionality while moving, and the drive mode memory. Fortunately it had a digital dash to distract me for the few days that I...
  2. 2017 convertible with smartTOP module

Nice that they gave you a response! Seems like a great company. I need to go ahead and send them some of my ideas to see what they say. I think everyone just needs to make a decision for themselves and stop worrying about bringing others to their decision. If you think the module isn't worth...
  3. 2017 convertible with smartTOP module

Totally agree! I love my Smarttop module. Hands down the best accessory besides my Audi windscreen! Mine is set up like yours and now my top down/up experience is no different than any other high-end convertible (I really have no need for putting the top up/down via remote while outside of...
  4. This should infuriate every single Mustang Convertible owner!

Totally agree. I had a one latch system on my "antique" 1994 BMW 325i. I was looking forward to one touch with all of the other modern amenities when I finally brought myself into the 21st century and bought my 2017, but was disappointed that Ford missed that one. I mean the entry light is in...
  5. This should infuriate every single Mustang Convertible owner!

I bought it direct off of their ebay page. I paid a total of $284.05 with free shipping. Thanks, Mark

Yes, IMHO the module is worth the money. Get it. You will thank me later. See my mini review in the link posted or let me know if you have any other questions.

FYI, the other day I drove with the top down in the start of the Tropical Storm Florence winds (supposed gusts up to 35 mph) and the windscreen didn't move until we were hit with one of the biggest gusts of the drive. I was very impressed with the stability of the Audi windscreen even though it...

Absolutely love it. The second best convenience mod behind the windscreen mod and worth the money IMHO. It was fairly easy to install. Pull the back seat bottom out (make sure that you look for the two clips to pinch, don't just start yanking on the seat like I did). It may be possible to...

That's what I love about the Audi design. You can't really see the fold on the top section.

Lol, my laziness got the best of me (the very reason why i upgraded from an old BMW e36 to the S550). After seeing the SmarTop and all that it could do, I figured that would be even better than trying to hack the system myself. I like the idea of the top automatically retracting as soon as I...

This is most likely the same item at Lowe's. It appears to have the same dimensions and it is also made by Hillman. Just in case you don't have an Ace nearby. I bought it but of course forgot to check if I had a 9/16" drill bit until I got home, so I will have to wait another day to drill out...

Wow! That looks better than I imagined. Thanks for the investigative work. I'm going to my local Ace to get those! Mark

Great idea! By my estimation you have .5" on each side to play with where I have mine mounted. This is why I love cars with enthusiast sites!

They are spring loaded. They actually lock into the retracted position to store the unit in the bag. Then when you take it out you simply push the two buttons on either side to pop them back out. Guide the far side pin into it's hole, then push the pin in on the nearside to get it into it's...

Possible, here are the measurements. Worst case scenario, buy one from someone who accepts returns and then either return it or sell it yourself on eBay. Front width at pins (not including the pins): 46.5" Length of the pins (each): 1.75" Approximate middle width: 43.25" Width at rear: 33.5"...

I have no problems with the easy entry mode (when it works lol). I added a picture to the link above so that you can see the spacing. That spacing is with the default return of the easy entry, so you have plenty of room to lean back even more.

I think that his point is that the existing windscreen options are unreasonably expensive for what you get. It's not necessarily all LTD's fault as Ford didn't include an integrated option like BMW, Audi, and others include. But for $300 less you get a unit that folds in half and fits in the...

I don't believe so, unless you made brackets that would fit similar to how the love the drive windscreen works. But at that point, it would probably be easier to buy the love the drive unit.

The foldable arms will rest on the rear seatbelts, which is nice as they won't rub on the leather. The best bet is to have someone mark for you as you hold in the position you want, then measure and mark the other side. That way you can place it exactly how you want it. I debated if I wanted...
