I thought the bottom end looked really good especially considering the 12k track miles on an 8,000 rpm engine. :)
Thanks for the post.
Grace and Peace,
Thanks for the update. The new build looks and sounds exciting. :)
Have you looked/talked to Lund Racing about what they're doing? Their S550 is running 7.70s with a 6R80.
Grace and Peace,
I take mine to a high end car wash. It's more expensive, but I can drink coffee and watch them wash it when it's freezing outside. They do drive thru or hand wash. I was a little concerned about the drive through until I saw a Maserati and a new S65 in front of me. I've also seen Ferrari's...
John,
Thanks for the 8.8 gear info. Being a 9 inch guy I feel your pain with the gear whine.
Since I'm a top-end guy I'm going the other way with my gearing, most likely to a 3.55. I'm just going to keep taking gear out of it until I can't hit the limiter in 5th. :)
Grace and Peace,
"Tunnel Chaser's" Youtube buddy "stangmode" just had warranty work on the rear-end of his '18 GT 10R80 turned down . It seems the dealer had been watching "stangmode" on Youtube. :)
Grace and Peace,
I'm looking at installing the Shelby coolant reservoir on my "18 GT350 and had a question. Are you talking about grinding on the tank or the FP oil seperator?
Grace and Peace,
No oil consumption. Usually keep the motor under 3 grand except when running top end in fifth (usually to the limiter). :)
I really baby it when it's cold. The high oil pressure makes me nervous. :)
Grace and Peace,
Maybe, no one knows that for a fact. There are a thousand things that could have caused that wrist pin to fail.
I've been around some of the best engine builders in racing and they have all had parts fail.
Grace and Peace,
I've been racing Fords since the early '60s and there is one common denominator that has held true through the decades -
"Money buys speed, how fast do you want to go?"
Grace and Peace,
Wrist pin, hmm......Do you think it's a manufacturing flaw or just the weak link? What are the Coyote folks doing to solve this problem?
Again thanks for sharing and keep us updated on the new build.
Grace and Peace,
Thanks for updating on your project. I've been racing Fords for over 50 years and somewhere along the line something will break. It's part of being a racer and operating on the edge. It's what racers do. :)
I've been down a similar road with Dr. Samuelson where I tried to convenience him of the validity of my sample and sampling technique. It wasn't pretty. ROFL
