    John, Thanks for the 8.8 gear info. Being a 9 inch guy I feel your pain with the gear whine. Since I'm a top-end guy I'm going the other way with my gearing, most likely to a 3.55. I'm just going to keep taking gear out of it until I can't hit the limiter in 5th. :) Grace and Peace,

    No oil consumption. Usually keep the motor under 3 grand except when running top end in fifth (usually to the limiter). :) I really baby it when it's cold. The high oil pressure makes me nervous. :) Grace and Peace,

    Maybe, no one knows that for a fact. There are a thousand things that could have caused that wrist pin to fail. I've been around some of the best engine builders in racing and they have all had parts fail. Grace and Peace,

    Thanks for updating on your project. I've been racing Fords for over 50 years and somewhere along the line something will break. It's part of being a racer and operating on the edge. It's what racers do. :)

    I've got over 50 years on my Starliner and '67 and they ain't blown and never will. The engine in my 2018 is a better, more reliable engine. :)
