The drain interval depends on the oil. If you use conventional oil, I would change it every 3,000 to be safe. I stopped using conventional oil like 20 years ago. I used to think to myself that synthetic oil was for expensive luxury cars like Mercedes and BMW, etc. Eventually I started doing...
Just buy some ramps or jack stands with a good hydraulic jack and do it yourself. Keep receipts for your oil and filter and document all of it. Somebody told me that even CarFax will let you some how document your DIY maintenance. I have not confirmed this. Is that true?
100% not true. I picked up nearly 4 MPG after switching to Amsoil in the engine, transmission and rear differential. I bench marked this driving constant back country roads with cruise control and no traffic. I wanted to see the best MPG I could get using Mobil 1 synthetic and Dexron tranny...

This would explain my good luck using this oil after I stopped using Mobil 1 synthetic and Castrol. Back in the day I was a big Mobil 1 fanatic. Just like when you buy stocks, don't do it on emotion. Do it...
Checking the dipstick after 1,000 to 3,000 miles of driving and seeing the oil levels way too low. After I switched to Amsoil, that problem virtually went away. I've been sticking with Amsoil in every vehicle I use and now I have ZERO problems. I order it in the morning and the next business...
I am amazed that nobody here is using Amsoil. Did you guys not do any research and read the ASTM testing results of how Amsoil compared to Royal Purple, Mobil 1, Castrol, etc? I'm not going to roll the dice with a lesser performing oil, especially doing extended drains. I had issues with...
Thanks, but that's on the other side of the country from me right now. Usually I just open it up on the Florida Turnpike and you can hit 180 MPH on some good stretches there.
Exactly. That's why I don't want to live in CA. Too expensive. Too many issues. Much better places to live elsewhere. I know lots of people are fleeing CA, but NOT ENOUGH are. More people need to flee.
That's not true. California has 93 all over.
If I lived in an area that didn't have 93, I would not own a Mustang and would have bought something different.
When I did my Cobb tune, I used the program for 93 octane. I would never use anything less than 93. The low end torque was so nice to have. Most of the time I would never have to downshift when passing somebody. It's not that much more to pay for 93. If you cannot afford 93 octane for your...
I don't think anyone has done it. I hate it. I'd rather have a traditional cap and a locking lid. Anytime I put fuel additives, it's a pain to have to use the extra funnel each time.
You cannot move south to a state that doesn't have snow and ice? But I can tell you that warm doesn't mean dry. In South Florida warm means rain all the time.
