Nothing but they did as I asked - didnāt wash it, sticker etc. nicely saved, drove it 1.5 hours to my house and drove my trade-in back to the dealership.
Replaced the Mini Cooper with a 2019 GT Premium in Race Red.
Pretty darn good car. And nothing screams 67 year old semi-retired guy better than a red Mustang convertible.
We moved from MA to our place in Maine spring of 2018. Only problem is that most of my favorite tracks are now 3 hours...
CarPros (which sells CQuartz) has good instructions, including prep. Like all coatings, itās the prep thatās critical.
Suggest you consider using their prep products and instructions for best result.
Not shilling for them - just super impressed with their quality and results after doing my 2019...
Well, one year on, I finally went to install the WeatherTech rear seat cover for my 2019 convertible.
Itās a generic cover (not specific to the Mustang) and didnāt work at all.
The cover needs a well-defined headrest to hook onto; no way is the convertible rear seat headrest workable...
Ugh, how embarrassing. I pussy foot around my local roads (nothing but local roads here in mid-coast Maine) which are pretty bumpy and narrow. And no traffic so you canāt hide in a crowd of cars (not that I prefer traffic!). So fun driving but only at the speed limit.
Another thing - once I...
Good thing I have you folks to remind me to protect the rear window and other areas with plastic and painters tape. I used plastic trash bags (unused of course)
Coated the top with 303 after a vacuum (top was clean following covered winter storage) and it came out great.
Exactly
Track day insurance covers physical damage to the car and does not duplicate your street insurance, which usually will not cover track events.
True that track day insurance usually does not have a liability option, but if you are driving with a reputable event organizer the liability...
Great tire but summer use only. Not a happy tire in cold weather and definitely not in snow.
My race shop recommended them for my damp track tires on my Cayman. Thatās how good they are.
We used to fill the tank in the Porscheās (and the boat) but with crappy gas the shop and yard are not as eager.
So I think you are ok with adding stabilizer but make sure you run the motor long enough to circulate it throughout the fuel system (10 minutes?).
Sounds obvious but sometimes itās forgotten.
When I bought the Stilo it took 1/2 hour of trying various combinations of cheek pads to get it right. If I had bought online I might never have gotten it right, so some of the race supply retailers are real good about allowing returns.
The Roux for...
Finally FINALLY washed my car for the first time more than 3 months after delivery.
We have well water and itās very salty, weāve been installing a reverse osmosis system most of that time. Took way longer than expected, during which Iām dying to wash and ceramic the car.
Surprisingly stayed...
I didnāt and I wonāt (deal with the finance guys).
Car was delivered to me and they drove my trade in back to the dealership - 80 miles each way.
Was kind of nice to just buy a car. Dealt from the start with the sales manager, I think he realized I wasnāt a fan of the usual song and dance.
Good...
I bought a Roux helmet at my last track visit (VIR). I like the fit a lot and that it includes comms, cooling, and eject system.
I moved from Stilo, which I also liked a lot.
Fit is critical for any helmet, and since the nearest race shop is a long ways from me, buying at VIR was appealing.
Hope...
Easy to find in the menu but of course I canāt recall each step. But looking for it will help you learn how to work through the menus.
I donāt use rev match mostly because heel/toe is necessary for my race car (not a Mustang ) and I donāt want to degrade my muscle memory.
Might turn it back on...
