There seems to be a huge amount of variation in press force. I attempted this with a balljoint press two weeks ago, and even with heat (not a lot of heat, because aluminum) and penetrating oil, i ended up mushrooming the aluminum tool steeda includes. Ultimately, i gave up and decided to find a...
The QR codes aren't a requirement, just a helpful 'cover your ass' for the supplier in most cases. Could be that the other valve cover doesn't have one, or it might be in a different location, possibly inside the valve cover. You'll find QR or other 1D or 2D codes all over the car though.
It's likely the valve cover. A lot of suppliers are moving to serialized parts so they can tie inspection data to a specific part to have some evidence that what they ship is good in case there's an issue later. (I work at an inspection equipment manufacturer)
Hey guys, I'm halfway through the Bilstein strut and shock upgrade and I've run into a question. How does the bumpstop/boot work?
The shaft of the strut is easily double the diameter, except at the top, where the boot and bumpstop can fit, but in the arrangement I've come up with, the boot gets...
I second the vote for the Z26. They've got a little less bite, but plenty of power ultimately. Dust is basically nonexistent, and the pedal feels a little firmer too.
Update for other people who find this later while searching:
The car was dropped off at 9:30 Wednesday, at 3:00 Thursday, I got impatient and called to see how it was going, half expecting the answer to be that they hadn't gotten to look at it yet.
To my pleasant surprise, the trans is out of...
So I broke my 3-4 shift fork. I was actually shifting with my fingertips when it broke, admittedly at 7k rpm, but by no means a destructive action in my opinion.
So, what am I in for? The car's at 33k miles, no mods except performance pack brakes.
There has been a TSB telling dealers to replace the fluid with DCT for people who complain about the shift grinding, just like the TSB for the super 8.8 rear diff recommending 75/140 fluid for all models.
The trans is still getting filled with regular GL4 fluid in the trans and 80/90 in the...
The bg fluid is a higher viscosity at the same temperature. The BG fluid is an improvement over the stock fluid, but the DCT fluid is an even bigger improvement.
It should self adjust with use if I understand the mechanism correctly. Keep in mind it has to self adjust for the full caliper's stroke, so pushing the piston in a little shouldn't be an issue
I've got a set of GT350R springs en route to my house, and the Track shocks to match them are in backorder purgatory. If my impatience wins out. Which alternative shock would work out best? Bilstein B6? Steeda adjustables? Konis? Enkeis?
It's a daily driven car, but I'm trying to run with my...
Didn't realize there were two videos. The "Normal" video sounds like mine. The clatter needs some, but not a lot, of engine load. Constant speed in 5th at 50mph is the perfect amount of load to hear the song of it's people.
Mine just clatters loudly at very light loads from ~1800-2200 rpm. Apparently audible from inside my neighbor's house. I haven't listened to it with the hood open.
That sounds like normal DI type noises, but it seems extremely loud in the video. Is it the mic responding more to the higher...
Mine really wasn't different hot vs cold. It always sounded terrible. But yea, I barely ever hear it now. It appears nobody else has seen this though so maybe it's coincidence. I also went from driving 1500 miles a month to 200 or so this year.
Like a lot of the 18+ owners, my fuel pump is a rattly piece of garbage, but since it won't kill the car, Ford's not gonna fix it.
I'd resigned myself to hearing my neighbor telling me I had 10 rod knocks in my brand new car until I died.
Until I installed the Boomba trans mount. Weirdly, the...
