I am experiencing a strange phenomenon on my manual MY17 GT
The reverse lockout is sticking "up" when I come back out of reverse gear
It will push down again (manually) - but its a little worrying
I have removed the gear knob and squirted a little wd40 on the shaft - and it frees it up a...
I was returning from Leicester to Doncaster yesterday (work) - and because the M1 was partially closed I diverted up the A46
Clear, empty road, dual carriageway - one (1) speed camera - all the way to Newark
this is what you might call a "Mustang road"
- pretty good surface (ok...
All
We are gathered here today to remember those who are no longer with us
The gallant departure from this world of those who were doing their duty and who have valiantly passed on :please:
the revered society of flying Mustang splatterers will forever remember them...
In particular we...
if anybody ever wonders about picking up new tyres in the Mustang and whether or not you can fit 4 in the car
you can!
I just picked up 4 x Michelin (MP4S) from Richard (Spider) - and with the rear seat down - 3 in the back and one on the passengers seat!
easy!
(bit smelly in the car...
Short journey 3 miles...
Driving along - behind an Audi R8 - country lane, sun shining, all good
Suddenly the R8 swerves to the other side of the road
"WTF?" goes through my head
as a builders hard hat lands just where the R8 was (fell off the lorry in front I guess) and bounces right...
When I bought my Mustang a year ago I just took out a fully comp policy with Ford Insure (didn't seem too expensive and it was simple enough)
Now renewal is due ( Ford Insure will let it automatically renew BTW)
So - as per threads on this Forum I thought I would try other insurers -
all...
Didnt think it would - but I just got a 7 foot Xmas tree into the boot/back seat - no problem at all!
quite a bushy one at that too! :giggle:
thank goodness the rear seat backs fold down
but now I will be spending most of tomorrow picking pine needles out of the boot carpeting ... :crying...
Before I resort to contortionist mode again and have to dislocate my shoulders -
....has anyone got any tips on cleaning the INSIDE of the rear screen?
with the sun low in the sky it is becoming more urgent to do this now:sunglasses:
So I had to park under a tree yesterday - last space left at Doctors and I was late!
WTF drops out of trees all over the car - little minuscule drops of stuff?
Sap?
Pain in a ass to get off too!
I might start a company selling tree sap and dead fly adhesive! they seem to be the stickiest...
There are a few internet sites that we all checkout and buy parts and accessories from -
but I thought it was worthwhile making everyone aware of some facts - through my own experience of one of the biggest ones.... (for legal reasons I have left out all company names)
When you place an order...
Dear Beemer driver chap
I am so sorry that you felt the need to overtake and attempt to race me today (on the Doncaster Motorway link road) -
you hooned past me like there is no tomorrow and then held back waiting for me to chase you -
Well- you see, I drive a bright yellow 5 litre Mustang -...
ok - so I have searched this forum etc
Everything seems to point to SAE 5-20 oil - but my manual says SAE 5-30
Also manual says semi synthetic - I see fully synthetic in a lot of threads here
Right now - all I want to do is top up - not an oil change ...yet
Please let me know should it...
I just got a letter from the RAC - saying that maybe they hadnt been clear about my renewal fee for membership - last December
So I called them just now
They have offered to cancel it and refund a % of the money I already paid -
and now I discover that I can take out a new policy with AA or...
so ... I am just giving the Mustang a little clean down at the end of the day - before she is put to bed for the night in her bedroom (garage):cwl:
next door neighbour has "guests" round for dinner and they walk out to say goodbye etc - they were talking about cars as they approached the guests...
I am an old - wash- clay - polish - wax kinda guy
But I saw an ad for this Hydrosilex stuff - with big claims of shininess and smoothness
So - I washed, clayed and dried the car - then sprayed a little of this stuff on ...wiped it off quickly
amazing results! bodywork is seriously...
I have just bought a cat back aftermarket exhaust - in stainless steel - but it has (welded) shiny tips
As all of the rest of my Mustang has no chrome or shiny bits - I thought I might spray the tips matt black BEFORE I fit it
Any tips? (pardon the pun) :D
I will need...
so - my TY shadow black already has little bonnet stripes as new -
but I just got faded OTT stripes as well
Question is... Is it all too much?
should I take off the original little bonnet stripes?
I know its a matter of opinion - but I am biased!! :D
the OTT stripes are staying...
So having had a few "issues" with my brand new Mustang GT triple yellow paintwork
- scrape where some numpty had pulled the wiper arm into the back of the bonnet - down to metal
misaligned boot opening - again scraped down to the metal
and a human hair (eyelash) under the paint on the...
So - I just had a stupid conversation with a guy
I came out of a shop to find him wandering around my Mustang and peering in through the window - admiring it not trying to steal it I must add!
He then went on to tell me "there were thousands of these - just in South Yorkshire alone - and...
I "need" axle backs now!
But - has anyone used Powerflow?
seems they make custom exhaust systems and fit them immediately too
but - not all that cheap
I dont want a massive noise - just more than the standard
I also am on a limited budget too!!!:)
