  1. BLACK GT350/R Thread

For sure, it was my buddy’s cam and he made the same comment...left the lens at home. Kind of an impromptu thing, but will be better prepared next time!
  2. BLACK GT350/R Thread

175 mile cruise yesterday through western Wisconsin and back. Nice mix of stretching her legs on B roads and realizing how comfortable it is to drive for extended periods of time. Here are a couple obligatory pics, but it was a short lived photo shoot with the frenzied mosquitos...I might have...
  3. My GT350R will likely be my last Ford car.

Wow, took some forum time off. Ripe for the cliche forum response, Ron Burgundy’s “well that escalated quickly”. My $0.02. Yes, on average, german cars are built better. Cross shop what you’ll get for the same price...a loaded BMW 340? Awesome car. It’s also not in the same league...
  4. What did you do to your GT350 today?

The sushi chefs were pretty damn interested in it. Took head chef for a spin and he must of loved it; he dialed up a special roll for me that was effectively an orgy of Toro. Great guys!
  5. Steeda Clutch Spring

Just resurrecting one of the 50 steeda spring threads for guys like me that are relatively new to the forum or the GT350. It has been debated to the Nth degree by early adopters of the car and forum. Just did this simple mod and love it. I have driven manual transmission cars for 25 yrs, and...
  6. Leadfoot Gray JR207

Congrats, and I love the DD approach! My daughter is 5 and keeps asking when she’ll get to ride in “black car”, highlighting how she loves how loud it is when I start it up...that’s my girl!! Not sure if I should go rear seat or wait a couple more years and get her up front...heartbreaking as...
  7. R tires

IIRC, wasn’t it stated somewhere that the tread width on the PS4S in 295/305 is somewhat comparable to the stock 305/315 Cup 2s on the R? Strictly from an aesthetics standpoint, that could be the best play for those of us wanting to switch to a street tire after the Cup 2s are spent (barring no...
  8. New Garage Flooring Options for my R

Directly on it. PEI 4+ porcelain is extremely durable. I dropped a hammer on it off a ladder...nothing.
  9. New Garage Flooring Options for my R

For install, I used a porcelain tile thin set mortar. Rated for indoor and outdoor use and has some flexibility, should be good for changing climate conditions. Actually, I struggled with my race deck tiles in a previous home...cut too precisely along the edges of the wall and they would...
  10. What did you do to your GT350 today?

Breaking it out more often after the recently completely full xpel ppf...they did an excellent job given the complexity with cars that have OTT matte stripes. Love this thing. Steeda clutch spring and JLT rock blockers will go on before a 150 mile cruise this weekend.
  11. New Garage Flooring Options for my R

Do some sort of tile, Drum. You’ll hate your life for a few weeks and curse my existence, but hey, you’ll soon forget. BTW, I run separate wheel/tire combos for winter and have jacked up my cars many of times directly on the tile itself...low profile jack for my cars and a clunky beast of a...
  12. Prices holding pretty well. Compare to RS3

I feel your pain, as I unfortunately never had a chance to test drive any of the cars I currently own...talk about a leap of faith! I did not consider the S3, and in fact, I was more inclined to go with the Golf R instead. Had a deposit on an inbound Golf, and they sold it to someone else 2...
  13. Prices holding pretty well. Compare to RS3

My RS4s (cab and sedan) are cars I still think about, wish I kept my sedan. My only beef with them was the carbon buildup...thankfully the RS3 has both port and direct injection, but it also has a less character...just can’t beat the RS4 sheetmetal.
  14. Prices holding pretty well. Compare to RS3

Pretty forgiving stuff. Broke in one spot that I will need to dig out and replace...near one of the drains, should have built up the mortar/back buttered more. I used the special liquid additive to mix the grout in lieu of water hoping the color accuracy would be better and give it some epoxy...
  15. Prices holding pretty well. Compare to RS3

Thank you, Drum. It is actually wood look porcelain tile laid out in a herringbone pattern. Couldn’t be overly choosey, just wanted whatever leftover clearance tile I could find in that general style and for 1000 sq ft. Actually, with the tile at $0.80 a sq fr, it is roughly the same price...
  16. Prices holding pretty well. Compare to RS3

I know I am digging up an old thread...just recall seeing it, and I got an RS3 last week as my daily. It’s a fantastic car imho, but comparing it to the GT350 is a little bizarre....wildly different cars. Really nice tech like the virtual cockpit, quattro awd (albeit Haldex) for MN life, and...
  17. R.I.P. HR414....sad story

Just wow. As all have said and will say, thankfully you are OK, that's all that matters. I remember looking at your car with admiration when cruising the forums and trying to determine if I was going to get an R. Thanks for the motivation, and hopefully we in turn can motivate you to get back...
  18. Finally Xpel competed!! Extremely Happy with results

There really isn’t a perfect solution if your car has stripes, unfortunately. The strip/seam method can result in dirt eventually getting trapped at the edges of your multiple pieces making them more pronounced, and also just more risk an edge will lift/peel away. The full cover approach...
  19. What did you do to your GT350 today?

Took a step towards stress management...battle damage and swirl prevention.
