  1. Crashed For First Time This Morning

I was a judge in traffic court for decades and I can’t remember ever finding someone guilty for driving 5 over.
  2. Consumers Reports continues to be inaccurate garbage

The problem with the reliability ratings is that they aren't a random sample and participation is voluntary.
  3. Consumers Reports continues to be inaccurate garbage

P Zeroes aren't terrible, but I much prefer the Pilot Super Sport- that tire still works pretty well down to @40F. If I wasn't going to track the car I would look very hard at the Pilot Sport A/S 3+. That's what I put on the Club Sport and so far I've been very pleased with respect to both...
  4. Consumers Reports continues to be inaccurate garbage

A more accurate title for Consumer Reports would be Bottom Feeders Gazette. When I saw that they gave a high rating to Cerwin Vega speakers I was convinced that their audio reviewers were graduates of schools for the hearing impaired.
  5. CA Dealerships and the FP Power Packs

It sounds like the dealers in my neck of the woods; refusing to hire employees with opposable thumbs will eventually catch up with them...
  6. Car and Driver 2018 Mustang GT instrument test

Exactly; drivers always need a point-by to pass even in instructor sessions where passing is allowed anywhere on the course.
  7. Drove the 10 speed finally

Welcome to every online automotive forum...
  8. Car and Driver 2018 Mustang GT instrument test

First off, what "racing clubs" are you referring to? There are clubs and businesses that host track days. If there are any that conduct track sessions as competitive events I'm not aware of it- and I'm an HPDE instructor. Secondly, which BMWs won't allow the driver to completely disable ACC...
  9. Car and Driver 2018 Mustang GT instrument test

Whatever car I bought was going to serve as my HPDE instructor car. My previous track rat was a mildly tweaked Mazdaspeed3(I wanted to get first hand experience with a FWD car because we were getting a number of students in GTIs, Mini Coopers, etc.) The WRX was interesting because you could play...
  10. Car and Driver 2018 Mustang GT instrument test

    Exactly; as I mentioned in another thread, before I bought my CPO M235i in January 2016 I also considered a 2015 Camaro SS 1LE, a 2014 Challenger SRT8, a 2013 Boss 302, a 2015 Mustang GT Premium PP, a Lotus Elise, a 2015 370Z NISMO, a 2014 Cayman S, and a 2015 WRX STI. There wasn't a bad car in...
  11. Car and Driver 2018 Mustang GT instrument test

If you look at what Car and Driver calls their "In Depth" reviews they measure the unobstructed view(s) of the tested vehicle. There is a significant difference between the Camaro...
  12. 2018 Bullitt Mustang (and Features) Confirmed in Window Sticker

Nothing Lincoln has built since the early '90s interests me in the slightest. In contrast, my dad had a 1986 Mark VII LSC in the late '80s and I loved that car; stylish V8 power with engaging RWD handling(I also liked my three pedal 1984 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe work beater, but I digress)...
  13. 2018 Bullitt Mustang (and Features) Confirmed in Window Sticker

Back in 2008 I considered buying a new Mustang Bullitt, but the local dealer laughed and scratched when I mentioned X-Plan(their Bullitt was also wearing a $10K ADM sticker). Ten months later the same Bullitt Mustang was still nailed to the showroom floor- only now the dealer was frantically...
  14. Considering picking up an 18 GT

Exactly! That's how I picked up my CPO M235i for a great price- and everyone that saw it thought it was new car. I have bought a couple of new cars when I wanted a hard to get car optioned in a specific way, but for the majority of my vehicle purchases depreciation is my good friend.
  15. Premium fuel or Regular? GT Coyote V8

I run only Top Tier 93 octane in everything but the Wrangler; if I do get a GT it will get only Top Tier 93 octane as well.
  16. Holding Pattern - 2018

That's what I'm probably going to do; I almost always buy a CPO car- depreciation is my friend.
  17. Ordering a 18 GT tonight!

That is a nice color; it reminds me of the color of the 1970 Torino GT my dad once owned.
  18. Ordering a 18 GT tonight!

Agreed; back in the early '90s I had a black 1988 M6 and I lived at the end of a 2500' gravel farm road. I think the car was truly clean for a total of 30 minutes over the three years I owned it. Also, I remember a professional detailer telling me, "Black is the one color that reveals every sin...
  19. Ordering a 18 GT tonight!

So how does that carry over to warranty issues? I know Ford has stated that some cars are covered for HPDE use, but stating that the GT PP2 isn't suitable for HPDEs would seem to give Ford an out if they wanted to deny coverage along the lines of, "You should have bought a GT350 if you wanted a...
