Thank you all. I think Tasca wins so far because you can find a part, then click the "See related parts..." link and get more of a breakout of the diagram from which the part comes.
The electrical connectors for the tail light harnesses still elude me.... without buying the entire harness or...
I see all these aftermarket (insert accessory here) that fit into or plug into or use existing Ford OEM parts. Or I'll be pulling off bumpers or panels and a clip breaks or goes flying into low earth orbit. Is there a place that has parts diagrams that you can then pull a Ford part number from...
FORSCAN is the software, there are threads on this site and others (Fusion, Focus, F-150) that go through the whole procedure and have lists of available changes.
Basically, $21-$80 for a bluetooth OBDII dongle (mine's the $21 variety, I'm sure there are also wired USB adapters) + Free (for...
Asking for advice here, don't take this as me telling your you're wrong... I'm not any sort of lighting expert, but I would tend to trust a company like Hella or Cibié, someone who makes OEM fixtures for major automobile manufacturers, someone who's been around and has a record of long-term...
If I were to wire something in with the high beams, I would probably tap off of the high-beam wires and fire a relay that would pass on a separately-fused circuit straight from the battery to the add-on lights. That way, you aren't taxing the high-beam circuit for more than what it was designed...
Thank you for all of the input! I will TRY to remember to post back here if and when I do figure out what I do with lighting. I really like the idea of the dual pencil/driving of the Baja Squadrons. While I really like the stock mounting option, I'm not so hot on the worm-burner low mounting...
If you are satisfied with your high beams, good! If you never exit the city limits, you probably barely ever use them anyway. They aren't bad but, personally, I think my 1994 Nissan has better high beams than a lot of modern cars, not just the Mustang. My '85 BMW has MASSIVE high beam abilities...
Yep... Hella, Piaa, Cibié (if you want to spend ALL your money). Didn't know if there were official mounting kits for newer cars yet Or if they were still the type of affair where you just screw it into the front bumper or into the hood … Which I'm not necessarily wanting to do to the new kid...
You, sirs (I assume), are what I was hoping for out of this site. Thank you! Your search-fu is stronger than mine, apparently. I am a little split on the looks of the grill mounted lights, even though that is the ideal location for long distance lighting. Been thinking about making a custom...
You know, maybe I didn't make it clear in the original post, that's entirely possible. Let me clear that up now, I'm looking for LIGHTING TO SUPPLEMENT THE HIGH BEAMS. These would not be intended for use if there is oncoming traffic. These would be intended for those dark country roads or any...
I have seen the brightness of those and if you're going to tell me that they illuminate anything more than the factory fog lights, let alone the standard low-beams, I'm going to tell you you're full of it.
Well, let me answer my own question, then. Maybe I better get used to there not being an answer yet on such new cars?
Ebay, straight off the boat from China: "50 x Center Console DVD Dash Panel Clip Body Trim Retainer For Ford For Mercury". $8, free shipping, for 50. They're orange.

Not sure where to post this, Search turned up nothing...
I'm curious if anyone has done any research into replacing the factory fogs with driving lights, or otherwise finding driving lights to mount in or behind the grille. I'm talking something that lights up the stop sign in the next...
I think different publications have different launch methods. Like Car & Driver will brake-torque the start, or whatever it takes to get the best numbers. Stuff with lesser performance car-cred, like CR, won't brake stand, they'll just take off. Easily worth a few tenths, depending on the car...
As I understand it, they suck in weather below 40°F-ish, and I can attest to the fact that they are rock hard and don't stick to dry pavement worth jack in such temperatures. I've only gotten my car since it's been cold out, but I imagine they do stick pretty well in warmer temps. I have heard...
