I have the same problem in my 17 except mine stays even when warm during idle. I thought it was a belt or pulley but it wasnt. sounded like the driver side head area, but havent pinned it down. I assume its the same issue. It has been doing it for 18 months and nothing negative has occurred...

Yea, i couldnt figure it out for months, but thats what it was. Any uneven surface would make the groan sound. I thought it was the spare rubbing, then i though endlinks binding on the sway. Finally saw the wear on those and that fixed it.

I had the same issue, sounded like frogs in trunk lol. Its the u-joints/latch points in the first picture, you can see the wear. I just wrapped them in mole skin and its been fine over a year now. There is too much play back there.

Thanks Cobra, i will check this all out. I went to the dealer once and they heard it and shrugged and said cars make noise lol, so i didnt get anywhere with them. I know it may just be something trivial and annoying, just getting ideas of things to check. Thanks again

I'm a leather fanatic for just about everything except vehicle interior. Im in FL as well, and leather gets 3rd degree burns on your legs hot in the summer. Plus a few friends of mine have leather seats, and i sweat constantly. I love the look, but its cloth interior for me.
