I bought my first R over a year ago and am still in love with the car. I prefer to drive it over 997.2 GT3 RS. It's an amazing car, an instant classic. I still want an Avalanche Gray and Grabber Blue cars.

I also read that no more Base R's will be built for MY18 once production picks back up this year. It was in the fine print of a Ford brochure.

I have one of the Base R's in Triple Yellow w/o stripes and black roof. Looks like only 2 were built in 2016. The Base R is definitely the car to have if you're thinking long term.

I got the PP car at the Detroit auction in June. Ford released 3 PP cars and I got the first one that went through. So I'm on my own.

I have PP011 VIN 200144. It's a 2016 Magnetic Gray with Black OTT Stripes.

I picked up the R tonight and it seems they’ve fixed the mysterious rattle. The tech says the old shield was bent towards the engine block causing the rattle at ~4000 rpms. I posted the part numbers previously. I hope this is helpful to others experiencing this noise.

My other two R’s don’t make the noise. I’ll report back when done.

I have no idea. The tech and service guy call it a scatter shield. This is being replaced today on one of my R’s.

I believe it’s protection from clutch/flywheel failure.

LOL! Some protection shield between the motor and trans??? I’m no mechanic...

Ford service tech here says it’s the scatter shield rattling. He days he seen it on GTs too.

Added a 2017 GT350R OW w Blue OTT stripes Electronics Pkg chassis # HR670 in August.

I believe there is a 2016 R MG with white OTT stripes on ebay with pics...combo looks great, more rare. Also, check out the Motor Trend Channel on youtube. They tested the R against the Z28. The R is a MG with white OTT stripes.
