The only dyno graphs I've seen show the BBK adds 10 to 20 ftlb at the low RPM range where the 3.3/3.5/3.7 would benefit due to the torque dip at 3000 to 3500 RPM. It would help with launches. At the high end the TB itself was worth 5 hp at most.
Thanks for taking the time to do all of that!
I took measurements of my 2018 Explorer airbox and its 79mm ID at the smallest part and then goes to 89mm at the hose that attaches to the stock TB. So the TB itself is definitely a restriction at least on the Explorer. Our upper intake does not...
Is yours set up to use only E85 or is it supposed to adapt between straight gas and E85 blends? Reason I ask is that Jessie says he/PD Tuning only sells E85 blend tunes/ethanol tunes. Which I'm assuming is that he or PD Tuning sets the stoich to match whatever blend of E85 the customer is...
I contacted him but didn't get a helpful response. What are you using to datalog? Is there any chance you can check to see Inferred AFR Status and Inferred AFR Source? FORScan might even have these.
Thanks for the offer! I've looked at the stock tuning on the 5.0 F-150s and worked with some of the Coyote Mustang owners on getting the settings they used that worked for them. But either there are still undefined parameters or some other underlying issue that prevents it working on EcoBoost...
I've tried that and even did long drives to get it to mature, but no bueno.
I've tried different settings and the inferred AFR is relatively close to what the LTFTs are when I disable Flex Fuel, so the system is mechanically working. I just don't understand why it fluctuates so much or why the...
For those running a real flex fuel tune, how has it worked? Are you logging LTFT's by any chance? The reason I ask is that I noticed the EcoBoost engines (2.3, 2.7, 3.5) run a different type of primary wideband sensor where the flute holes are all aimed downward. On the actual FFV/Flex Fuel...
I'm having the same issue with a 2.7L EcoBoost. I've tried all kinds of settings, resetting KAM, driving 40+ minutes but it will NOT mature the AFR stoich. It will adjust/compensate for up to full E85 but it will never mature which results in LTFT never learning/producing data and I believe this...
I know this is a VERY old thread, but I am working on an EcoBoost flex fuel tune (2.7L) and am encountering the same exact issues as the OP. The difference is that the EcoBoost for whatever reason, refuses to mature the inferred AFR. I'm on my 2nd fill up with E10 93 octane and the inferred...

Their site shows it is available. I just ordered some months ago as a Preferred Customer. The inner core is plastic and not the metal like FL2087.
FYI...
I have a 2017 Fusion Sport with the 2.7 EcoBoost and it uses FL-2062, but it was superseded with FL-2062-A. The 3.0 in the Explorer ST also uses this filter. In any case, I bought an Amsoil Ea15 for the 2.7 just to see what it was. The photos of the FL-2087 you guys are posting looks like...
This is an old thread but I wanted to chime in...
Those inverted vane rotor designs started coming out in MY2013 for the Taurus SHO / Explorer Sport / Police Interceptors on the front. Rumor was that when they started testing the 2010 SHO, and 2011-2012 Explorers, the first things that most...
Would anyone with a 2018-up EcoBoost Mustang care to take a photograph of their stock throttle body, in particular the wiring harness/connector and the bolt configuration?
Thanks!!
Let me rephrase, what does the compressor map look like? With my EcoBoost SHO, I found out by accident that there is a point where it just will not allow for more boost. But that is way beyond the choke line. And yes, there's a lot of heat produced hence the need for an aftermarket intercooler...
I was reading a write-up from Speed Factory where they talked about dyno'd gains from stock all the way to their custom tune and their Intercooler. They got it up to about 400 hp at the crank.
I'm curious to hear from actual EcoBoost owners/tuners and to see what the potential is with the stock...
The price delta is over $20k, they are quite different cars from what I'm reading. One is better suited for the street, the other is aimed purely for the track. I was hoping the GT350 could do both fairly well.
I'm running E85 in my 3V and E30 in the SHO. I'd go E85 with the SHO but would need the $2k HPFP and VE table for my 4 lobe setup.
I plan to tune the S550 or GT350 (whichever I decide) to run on E85 or a blend depending on the stock fuel capacity. I have to run my stock 3V injectors at 60 psi...
Mostly worthless, even on EcoBoost. It's not 100% catching all the oil, and the oil that gets in the turbo hot pipes isn't even from the PCV system. The breather check valve oil fill cap is also worthless as it would just vent vapors through the fresh air tube under boost. And the amount of...
