Good luck! Sounds like you're past the hardest part of the installation. The most nerve racking is loading the tune though.... just be patient with that part and I'm sure everything will go smooth. Went on a day trip yesterday, around 300 miles total...got 26MPG, but beast mode with full throttle.
Well, kinda...I had an ASE certified friend who I paid to help. It's really an easy install though and I'd have just done it by myself, if I didn't want to submit for warranty coverage. Just get the Procal stuff done, and the new calibration downloaded beforehand, then do the mechanical portion...
I've been running mine now for about 1K miles. My only suggestion would be if your car sits outside a lot (daily driver like mine) and you get a lot of rain, add a pre-filter to repel some of the water. We had terrible rains here in NC and my air filter got totally saturated(while the car was...
Still loving my PP2 on my 17' GT automatic. I ended up putting a pre-filter on to minimize having water issues like I experienced. I test drove a 19' Perf. Pack 10-speed a couple of days ago... power was very similar, except that A10 seemed like it had gears for days...lol. Using the paddle...
I'm really impressed with the power pack 2 in terms of driveability. To me it's like this is how the car should've come from the factory. My car's an automatic. My only issue is the water problem I had earlier this week. I am intrigued by the Velossa Tech big mouth. I'd be interested in...
True. Drain isn't clogged; I could see through it no problem. You'd have to have been here during the storm that rolled through to understand just how much water was dumped in such a short period of time. I was driving home in my truck only a few miles away when it came through...couldn't see...
Fixed it. Was able to read the codes, MAF code. I took the filter off and the bottom half was soaked(Air Raid blue filter). Puddles of water going up the intake tube past the MAF sensor. I dried everything up and put the stock paper filter on, cleared the code and everything is fine. The only...
Question: What version ProCal S.W. are you running on your PC? Do you have the diagnostic tab for reading codes? I'm running v4.1 and don't have the diagnostic tab...
Local mechanic. Drove fine for a few hundred miles(took a weekend trip) so I'm sure it's not tune related. I wished my scanner could've grabbed whatever code it was throwing...probably would shed more light on what the issue was, but I just didn't have much time and had to get to work this...
I had my PP2 installed on my 17' GT auto recently. Have a few hundred miles on it. Parked it for a couple of days while we had a lot of rain/thunderstorms. Went to drive it this morning and it was studdering a bit during a cold start...went to drive it down the road and it died. Started it up...
Yes I understand this, the gray area meaning how dealers view covering powertrain components when a FP PP has been installed. The way I look at it, there's a crap ton of other things more likely to break before having powertrain issues that adding the power pack won't have an effect on warranty...
Well it looks like that's gonna work out...a friend of a friend is ASE master certified and is going to help me out with the install for a minimal fee. I removed the sound tube last night...should be downhill from there.
I've ran 93 from the start in my 17' on the stock tune. PP2 calls for 91+ , I wouldn't go out of my way for 94, but just run 93 consistently for added insurance.
Depends on what equates to a key count I guess, just hitting the turn on button with the brake pressed? I'd spend my weekend doing it if that's all it takes!
But in all seriousness... anyone adding a tune should be prepared for the worst case scenario.
