  1. Buying new car cash: Dealer wants a credit check/financing application?

So, you're saying that people are smart enough to know that cashier's checks can be faked, but not smart enough to know that all they need do to verify that said check is valid is call the bank? Sorry, I'm not understanding why the hold you're speaking of would be necessary. The bank, not the...
  2. Pulling the Exhaust Valve Fuse - Works perfect!

Another option, if you don't want to hardwire a switch is to use a wireless relay. Then, instead of using the little remotes that come with the relay, you can program one of your homelink buttons to activate and deactivate it. The mod can is also easily reversible should you ever want to remove...
  3. Hear me out... How excessive is TOO excessive when buying a pre-owned GT

The point is, the dealer would have absolutely no recourse if you did harm the vehicle. Let's say the dealer allows you to plug your laptop in, and run your scan, which you are 100% sure is harmless. Then, afterwards, the dealer claims whatever you did caused an issue with the car, and wants...
  4. CJPONYPARTS...REALLY?!

Right, but it's an issue between BMR and CJ Pony Parts, not between BMR and the OP. This is a brand new part, and the expectation, when ordered is that it'll be as CJ asserts it to be. This is CJs issue to fix.
  5. CJPONYPARTS...REALLY?!

CJ needs to handle the return at their cost, and send you a replacement part. If they won't, as Bikeman315 said, dispute the charge with your credit card company. Then, cross CJ off the list of companies you'll do business with in the future.
  6. Ford Mustang Keeps Dominating Every Other Sports Car In The World

Yep, they sure did report that...on April 1st. Get it?
  7. Thorton Chip

I don't have any personal experience, but it took me about 10 seconds to find this: https://www.performancechipguide.com/thorton-top-speed-obdii-cat-performance-chip-tuner-review-teardown/
  8. Buying a Mustang that was built for Canada in the US

I bought a C7 that was originally sold in Canada from a dealer here in the US. My servicing dealer converted the current mileage from Kilometers to Miles in Chevy's system at my first covered oil change. The remainder of the factory warranty was in effect, just as if the car had originally been...
  9. Interior plastic scratches on new car ☹️

It doesn't remove scratches, per se. Just makes them much less noticeable. That said, I'd call what I'm seeing in the pictures you posted scuffs, not scratches. I had white shoe scuffs on the door panels of my Vette (as much as I try to be careful not to kick them). Nothing else I tried would...
  10. Interior plastic scratches on new car ☹️

I've used a product from Meguiars on my C7 called Back To Black, to remove shoe scuffs on the door panel and to hide scratches where the seat belt buckle hits the side plastic trim when released. I'm really happy with the results.
  11. S550 owner shows off - into pole

    Sure looks fake to me
  12. 1st Mods on 2020 GT500

What's your source for this? I think you're confusing two facts, a) it's perfectly legal for you turn the chime off on your vehicle, and b) you can turn the chime off on some vehicles with a series of tasks, with a law that says you must be able to turn the chime off.
  13. Why Spend $50.00 ?

I completely agree. I'm also a member on the Corvette Forum, and, without fail, anytime someone posts a money saving or DIY tip, without fail someone will post a reply like this. It's as if you're expected to never try and save a buck because you can afford the car.
  14. Am I crazy or just logical?

Thanks! Looks like some good info for me to read. And, it looks like I've got a few miles before I need to be too concerned. Hopefully, by then, I'll be on to a new Vette (with the engine behind me?)
  15. Am I crazy or just logical?

I have looked it up. I've read a lot about it. But, I haven't found any documented cases of significant carbon buildup or power loss on LT1s with a few thousand or 30,000 miles.
  16. Am I crazy or just logical?

Ugly Chevy owner here. Mine has a few thousand miles, and I haven't noticed a power loss. Can you cite your source? Obligatory new poster pic:
