My 18 GT was bought back from ford for the same exact issue. I was hesitant to get a 19 as a replacement but I ended up taking the chance on it.
The 18 started to rattle like crazy at 500 miles or so. I have over 700 on this new one and its smooth as butter ( knock on wood). I do have a cold...
I was really close to doing the same but I decided to give it another shot as I've had 30+ Mustangs and this is the only one that has had an issue.
I had a 17GT with a VMP blower that I went 9s with and I stupidly got rid of it for a gt350 and then got rid of that for the 18GT.
Lesson...
Yes but I had to pay the MSRP difference. They do a substitution of collateral so my current financing stays the same. I paid cash for the price difference between the 2. This one had the active exhaust, 355s and black out package that I am so glad I have as the wheels on the LB were hideous...
I have to say this was not that bad. The car had the tick, obvious rattle at 2k rpms, broken right rear shock, transmission shudder at low speeds and a bunch of interior rattles. I brought it into service at about 800 miles and they told me the rattle/tick was the DI. They did tell me I was low...
Hey all, I just picked up my 19 GT A10 301a with active exhaust tonight. Had an 18 that was replaced with this car as it had the tick/rattle. I'll cross my fingers that this car is ok. Picked up some ceratec just to have in case.
I'll get some better pictures but I honestly wasn't the biggest...
Maybe you can add if your car was bought back/replaced or not. That was my case so I can't add that my engine was replaced, the whole car was replaced.
Just an update. The dealer has had it since last Tuesday and when I called today they told me that Ford told them that the noise was normal. The dealer was adamant with ford that it is not normal at all so they are awaiting their response. All I know is 13 more days and I can go through NJ lemon...
I'd wait at least 20 minutes after driving before checking. Remove the dipstick, wipe and insert and remove again.
Ford is the one who told me I was 1qt low. I didnt know as I had not checked since 4-500ish miles when it showed full.
Their diagnosis was to drive it and see if it loses...
I promise I do not want it to be bad but losing a quart of oil in the first 9Ă—Ă— mile, coupled with the tick and this rattle as well as the 22Ă—Ă— rattle while driving the car tells me its something worse than that.
