  1. What type of loctite for front spindle?

I need to change a front wheel bearing. What type of thread locker is correct for the front spindle nuts? Ford uses some sort of light green paste that doesn’t look like anything else I’ve used.
  2. F Street, a pony car class

In that case I’d like to have about 30 drivers banned from this class so I can be more competitive.
  3. F Street, a pony car class

What makes the M3 competition package unsuitable for FS? From the specs I can find online the 2010-2013 M3 is v8, RWD, 400hp, 3700 pounds, with 9.5” wide wheels. Those specs seem similar to a lot of other FS cars, but I’m sure there’s an important part I’m missing.
  4. Pressure Washers?

I have a similar model power washer, what nozzle do you use to rinse your car? That washer only comes with a 15° nozzle. I wonder if that is too narrow and will damage the paint.
  5. Problems with deez nuts

I'm glad this thread title drew me in. My tire shop destroyed the stock lugs, they must not have put the socket all the way down the lug and only hit the sheet metal. I wanted an excuse to get black lug nuts, gorillas are on the way.
  6. Baseline Trackday

Click on the word Low or Normal and it should covert to an oil temp gauge.
  7. Road Rash

Whatever you apply, consider also protecting the area between the back tire and the door. The front tires direct a lot of debris into that area.
  8. Source for 5mm spacers?

I figured out why I couldn't find a 5mm spacer with a lip for the wheel hub. The hub on these cars is thicker than 5mm. Unfortunately the GTPP wheels have a significant chamfer in this area, if I space them out there is no contact with the hub. Now I have to decide if I trust the lugs to take...
  9. SCCA F-Street Setup. What's Everyone Done so Far?

There is always great advice here. Thanks for the pic Doc, that looks easy enough.
  10. SCCA F-Street Setup. What's Everyone Done so Far?

When doing the camber mod, do you remove the strut from the car or just unbolt it from the spindle? Does the spindle need to be supported after it is unbolted from the strut, will the lower arm and tie rod hold it in place without damage?
  11. Tpms question.

If your old wheels are nearby the car may still read those sensors. The sensors need to be synced to your car using a TPMS Transmitter tool. You can get the Motorcraft tool to sync the sensors from most places that sell Mustang parts, or Amazon. Here's one source for the tool with an...
  12. Tire Pressure on Door Placard for 19" Tires?

My GTPP says 32PSI front and rear.
  13. Source for 5mm spacers?

I need a 5mm spacer for the front of my GT. I've checked several parts suppliers and so far I haven't found any that sell hub centric 5mm spacers for the S550. Eibach makes them for the S197 but said they won't fit an S550. Who sells hub centric 5mm spacers that fit the S550?
  14. Recommend an inexpensive tire for track/HPDE

I appreciate all of the feedback, especially Grafanton sharing on track experience with the Indy 500s. I'd prefer not to spend much on track tires because I'm probably only going to use them for three weekends. I've been running autocross with worn out Pirellis on a spare set of wheels and next...
  15. Recommend an inexpensive tire for track/HPDE

Thanks for the offer, unfortunately I'm in the Carolinas.
  16. Recommend an inexpensive tire for track/HPDE

I need a new set of tires for an upcoming HPDE with my GTPP. These will be used primarily for track and rarely on the street. I'd prefer an inexpensive tire. For HPDE I'm not too concerned if I give up some time to a more expensive tire. I've seen good reviews for the Firestone Firehawk Indy...
  17. Spraying Tires for AutoX

Put your hand on the tread, is it too hot to touch? If it's too hot you should cool it down. The goal of spraying is to avoid overheating the tread, but they need some heat to be sticky. That's the advice an SCCA national winning driver gave me, then he loaned me his sprayer. My time improved...
  18. Tire pressures FS with oem tires

I chalk the tires regularly and don't see much more rollover at 35 pounds than I did at 38. I was using 38-40 pounds in the front and I was much slower than similar cars. A faster driver advised using less pressure and my times drastically improved.
  19. Tire pressures FS with oem tires

I found I go faster at 34-35 psi in the front than I did at 38 psi. Around 33 psi in the rears works well. I was advised by a more experienced driver to set the rears 2 pounds less than the fronts and that seems to work for me. I spray the tread with water between runs to help cool it down.
  20. Removing dried wax

I tried every car cleaning product I had. The only thing that touched the haze was rubbing compound. The paint must be damaged. I'm not going to polish every one of these spokes by hand. I'll swap the tires to use these wheels as my autox wheels and use my original wheels for daily driving...
